Hello, I'm looking for a wireless headset like Turtle Beach. Something I can use to hear videogames and movies, with top notch sound and quality. I don't mind paying high price, as long as it's worth the buck.
Things to note:
I own a PS3, my preferable price range is $200-$250, would love to hear games as well as movies. All suggestions are welcomed.
If this thread is against any rules, please direct me to where I can ask this question. Thanks.

I don't own one, but most of the professional players and youtubers reccomend the Astro A40.
They say that it's much better than Tritton Ax Pro/720 or any Turtle Beach. It costs $249,99 in Amazon.

Razer Blackshark BF3 Edition (I pretty much own all the BF3 things from Razer... fanboy/geek/whatever I already know that). So satisfied with it. No more sound disturbance from surroundings, extremely enhanced bass (really nice with Battlefield's epic War Tapes and such) and in general good sound. They can also go really loud which is great.

Plus not to mention the build quality is (from my short experience) really nice. Better than a Creative headset I used to own. Mic is sturdy as hell aswell.

Dont get sucked into buying something for $200. Turtle Beach is not worth it. you do NOT need ultra super quality sound. Just go buy a basic dang headset from walmart for $30.

I can understand wanting something better than the Traditional head set, but why spend nearly 10x as much for it. Its not worth it, considering the fact that next gen is gonna be coming sooner than you think.

Actually a better idea, go to walmart, and buy Playstation Move. The Camera acts as a mic, and most games support the thing. I use it to talk to people on GTA IV all the time.

I said I wanted something to use so I can hear the game without using my Tv's speakers. I like to play late at night after work and I don't want to disturb anyone else with my gaming. Not to mention it'll be great hearing the game. I remember plugging in my earphones to the TV and was amazed at how much dialogue and ambient sounds I've been missing out on. With a great wireless media headset it should improve my experience more On top of that, I would love to use a headset for movies as well, so a mic that can only be use to communicate isn't going to cut it.I already have that and I don't mind shelling out $200 bucks for great quality.

About next gen. I don't buy next-gen as soon as it comes out. The line-up is usually terrible so I wait a couple of years. An expensive, but high quality media headset for about 4 years isn't that bad considering I don't spend that much on luxurious things anyway.

If you want the best experience with the best surround sound you spend the most.
I am pretty sure they will be compatible with new consoles anyway.

Why don't you spend 500 dollars on a car? Who needs to spend more?

Turtle beaches aren't so good, sound is great but they are not that comfortable, Astros.are better.

Yes but more then $500 for a car is fine, but something as little as a headset is def not worth over $50

u missed the part where OP said he don't mind paying. i would'nt too. all the 50 bucks headset i found are pure utter sh*t compared to anything. maybe ur the type of guy who only buy games a year after release and stuff. i would'nt mind paying 400 bucks to mouse or 800 bucks to headsets. hell i spent over 2K in tf2 items

I have TurtleBeach x11's. only £50 when i bought them, which was about 2 years ago now i think. I honestly believe if your serious about playing online games, especially FPS then a headset is essential. To me it makes all the difference in the world.

Mine are a bit old now so im thinking of upgrading, might actually buy some Astro A40's around Christmas time as a little present to myself. The price tag is insane but i have heard nothing but good things about them.

I own six headsets for my PS3, including a PX5. It's a great headset with nice bass. However, it eats batteries for breakfast!
So, I've limited my use of it. I'm currently using the Sony official PS3 stereo headset. It's not the best, but I find it more than adequate.
