I really hope V has this as it makes the weapons feel more realistic and powerful. (by blowback, I mean visually seeing the slide on your semi-auto spring back). None of the previous GTA's had this, neither did RDR, although there was only 1 semi-automatic pistol in RDR. Haven't really seen much MP3 gameplay, does that have blowback?

*If I had the time, I would post a YouTube video with slow-motion blowback to show you what I mean. Maybe someone else can do this?

I totally agree. I loved the cinematic camera, showing the slow-mo blowback at the end of the shootouts in MP3. It sort of creates an illusion of the shots making more impact smile.gif

Recoil refers to the kick. Blowback refers to the action of the slide springing back and forth. Never heard of "spread".

Yes. Blowback is the reason semi automatic firearms are semi automatic. It uses the force of the shot to load the next round or somthing kind of like that.

i see...well...spread is a term that suits best eh...shotguns, since they have large shells spread it requires getting much closer to harm a target, longer the distance - less chances to hit it...thats what spread is...

Correct, that is exactly right. It's one of the reasons the Desert Eagle has such a heavy kick, as the slide is huge and springs back further than most semi-auto pistols.

Yes indeed Max Payne 3 has blowback for all firearms. It's a feature I want really bad for GTAV.

max payne 3 does feature blowback, but the animation for it stutters and it isnt very smooth

I kinda had the feeling MP3 had blowback, maybe I seen footage of it somewhere before and totally forgot about it.

I'm eventually going to get the game, but I'm not paying £30 -£40 for it. Too much things to pay for at the moment.

OT: If it does feature in V, then I hope it is improved, if you say it's not that great in MP3.

Yes. I fully agree. The MP5 in IV (which is blowback-operated, if I'm not mistaken) the bullets fired, but the gun remained static. No moving parts, nothing. Same with the pistols. FPS's have always had fully operating weapons, because the gun was a third of the television screen. In a third-person game, not so much. I will admit, I never noticed the lack of operating parts, but now that we have brought it to our attention, and the upgrading RAGE engine, this should be in V. I want this now.

Most definitely. Along with blowback, the reload animations should also show the characters actually dropping the magazine and putting another in, not just the motion like in previous GTAs.

Yeah that would look awesome too. I know it's just a small feature, but it would make a massive difference to the feel of the whole game. I mean you use your weapon like 60% of the time during story mode.

I don't see how this would take up much of this "disc-space" everyone keeps talking about. (not really that savvy on the technology of games/consoles)

Yeah that looked really sh*t and fake how the casings would just disappear after being ejected. Hope this doesn't happen in V for sure.

Kind of related I guess: It would be neat to see exploding guns when shot. For example, if you've ever read the Dark Tower series, the main character Roland shoots an enemy's gun right at the same time when he was firing. It caused the enemy's gun to explode and blow up in his face.

R* did this in RDR with the dual side activities (my favourite side activity).

But it would be great to have this ability in free mode too. Where you gain extra points for not killing somebody who is at the more 'innocent' level of the crime web.
