Even with TBOGT being my favourite instalment of GTA IV, I don't get this.

Why are some people crediting this character for being on the the funniest in GTA history? He's no different from a kid with a dark and racist sense of humour, except he's an adult and is fat and ugly.

With lines like "die Chinese motherf*cker!" and "wassup my niggah!?", what is it about this guy that you think is really that funny?

It's about his father being extremely rich and carrying himself well; yet his son is completely stupid, doesn't know the value of a dollar and knows nothing about business or social contacts.

He's the spoilt brat you love to hate, but he's actually a pretty nice guy once you get to know him.

He tries to act like he came from the street because he thinks what he saw on his solid gold TV about "ghetto people" was cool.

He dreams of building theme parks, zoos and towers - but he fails miserably and his only chance to do any of this is if he can get his daddy to give him more money.

Hilarity ensues.

The end.

I'm not sure if I'd call him the funniest character of all GTAs, GTA:SA had many great characters. But he's definitely the funniest character in IV imho, followed by Roman.

This.

Most GTA Players are around middle school age, and thus have a "Boyz in da hood" mentaility, from what I've noticed around. Thus, they expect to see a "die-hard ghettoblasting hood slum gangbangers" (Possibly as to why they all want CJ to return so bad), therefore they get Yusuf. I'm not sure how true this is though, but it's what I think.

Yusuf and Roman are both caricatures of foreign men who come to America with their heads filled with exaggerated dreams from American media. Roman was born poor and Yusuf was born rich but they both come thinking they don't need to grow up because adolescent dreams come true here. Roman's attitude is somewhat more realistic because he had to work hard for 10 years to get what he has, but his dreams are different from Yusuf's only in scale. Yusuf is what Roman would be without knowing hardship.

I Think the character of Yusuf appeals more greatly to the british audience of GTA, I think he reminds us all of people that live here in the UK.
Yusuf is pretty damn funny, in a ridiculous way.

Well I found him especially funny as he was voiced by Omid Djalili, who has been one of my favourite comedians for 6 years now. That alone is enough to make me laugh.

I Didn't know it was him. that'll be why it appeals to the british audience.

I fail to see how anything you said has to do with anything in this thread at all.

Magic_Al got it right. He is a parody of a foreigner coming to the US after watching too many western TV shows in their own country and assumes incorrectly that's how America is.

You know what I can't understand? People who are so stupidly sensitive to "racism" that they can't appreciate comedy gold like Yusuf Amir.

You niggas to need to lighten up.

He annoys me, and he is too bloody overrated,
he is not funny at all, I mean, everyone can act rude and racist,
what really matters, and which is hard is to be Polite and respectful.
I liked him, but not in the overrated way.

He was ok, I didn't like how he said "wassup my n*ggas?" all the time, got a bit annoying. I Loved him at the ending though, because he saved my a** from peril without me even ASKING! Besides he helps Tony's business, so he got a thumbs up from me. Roman and Niko will always be my favorite IV characters since they're both too funny, Niko having that dark humor while Roman has the silly humor. Though all in all Yusuf was a good character, especially for his Arab money dance, dance fatty dance! lol.gif

His obsession with money and gold was also humorous!
