A good post on the GTA V announcement page got me thinking.
I love GTA IV and it's an amazing game, but I've looked back at older GTA games, and looked at many real cars and think IV just lacked a great variety of vehicles. The vintage cars(there are only 10 of them, and to be honest, I only like a few of them), the exotics, the luxury cars, just really fun cars.

To me it feels like R* just paid more attention to boring cars, because there seems to be a lot of boring cars over the fun ones. Yeah in real life there aren't beautiful cars everywhere, but some cars you see everyday are nice and fun some classics. But in IV, they just seem to lack the really fun cars, and the exotics they have are not really interesting IMO, they're kind of cheesy. I'm really stunned they lacked some classics and muscle cars, but sports cars? There are only a few, and the cars rated below the exotics seem to be better than the exotics themselves IMO.

I compared the list civilian cars in SA to IV and noticed IV had a bit less, and a lot of the really fun and interesting cars were just dropped.
Was this because IV was their first HD game and they had to focus more on quality rather than quantity? I could sort of understand then; but now that they know ho to work with the consoles and RAGE engine, all of the fun cars should return in GTA V and the game should be quality and quantity.

I hope V will be different, but OT: do you agree or no, other do you view it in a different way, please explain?

yes, especially the fact that IV only had like a 4 or 5 car rotation so it seemed even less diverse

I never found it hard to get good cars, things like banshees, infernuses and comets were near imposible but I was happy in my black michael-weston-style dukes. i was happy with the diversity

It depends what you mean by "variety," it lacked a few special vehicles but overall its got great variety. Plus, I kind of like cruising around in everyday normal cars.

since the beginning GTA was oriented foward realism . so if R* puts a lot of trucks for example that doesn't quite surprise me . personnally the way that GTA is doesn't bother me as with all the tools around it's pretty easy to put whatever you like wherever you like . i installed Stiopa M3 on the sentinel and a M3 cabriolet on Mr tasty biggrin.gif

this not a R* decision or issue this is more likely the consequences of nowaday hardware limitations

I mean yeah some cars were really nice and more realistic, but my interests in certain car genres vary. I could want a classic, a tuner, a luxury, an everyday car, a sh*tty car, an exotic, but sometimes when my wants change GTA doesn't really have it at times. I'm just saying, I would love a few more tuners, bigger variety in sports cars, because even though I love the Coquette and Banshee I parked at my penthouse, I still want to drive something different at times. I'd really love more classic cars/muscle cars, and I wish there were more trucks too.

I'm only have GTA IV for PS3, and I don't want real cars in the game. I'd want these type of cars to already be in the game.

This may sound strange, but do you know what type of cars are my favourites? Those rusty sh*tboxes.

if you're takling on a pure default vanilla game level then yes your point of view can be understood . in France we have a proverb one can't have the butter , the butter money and the dairywoman/dairyman . personnally i run a PC modded game and i can say that driving a nicely detailled 1970 Plymouth Barracouda with realistic handling is something very cool too

i think it's modding enthousiasts that gave R* the idea to include such vehicles . can you remember SA rusty cars they were some of the finest mods at that time
