Why is GTA V in this poll and why did anyone vote for it? I think one thing that people need to keep in mind is that we should vote on the game that is the most impressive considering what year it was released. The San Andreas graphics are awful but it's amazing how large that game is even by today's standards. That game was truly revolutionary and was years ahead of it's time. San Andreas would hook me in for days at a time. I still play it on my PS2 to this very day.

I would say IV. I loved San Andreas, but the Euphoria physics, crash modeling, current-gen graphics and overall realism made me love IV over SA.
Just wait until V comes out, though. Imagine taking San Andreas' fun details and massive landscape, and mixing it with the realism and Euphoria physics of GTA IV. I think that is what V will be.
GTA: SA on #1, with GTA IV close behind. GTA IV wins on the story front, but since SA combines a memorable story/characters with diverse gameplay and one of the most iconic gameworlds ever it wins. I have high hope for GTA V though, as it might combine the improved storytelling from IV with the large open world and (hopefully) diverse gameplay that SA offered.
VC, unlike many people, isn't that high up on my list. I played it after SA and III and as a result I was put off by it's less than optimal controls (compared to SA) and what I perceived as lesser graphics (no reflections/shine on cars). I do remember it for it's fun missions. Did love VCS though, as that removed all the problems I just mentioned.
GTA III is the best imo. A lot of people will disagree because it doesn't have as much content as later games or the protagonist doesn't talk but I like the silent protagonist and I like how the game flows. It just has a certain vibe that the others don't have.
To me San Andreas is a close second, and GTA V will likely be third. It will have the content of San Andreas, no doubt as well as the vastness but I highly doubt it will have characters as good as San Andreas. Rockstar has really been going downhill in that department. The III trilogy had tons of great characters but since then i can count the number of characters I like on one hand.
Edit: If you can't pick number one, f*ck off. Your weak, indecisive and pointless input is not asked for in the thread.
I can't believe i'm not the only one putting it that way LOL...though in MY opinion III was better than Vice City (but thats just me)...and zeppelincheetah LOL check my profile you'd be probably surprised...

Chinatown Wars is the best for me. Simply because it has that 'oof' I was looking for in a GTA game. It has the balance of both realism and fun. And the story fit the game quite well. The protagonist is also, probably the best one in any of the GTA games. Also has some nice features previous GTAs should've had. And of course, that 'oof' I was talking about.

They all have something going for them. III had the Lazlow's best work (chatterbox) and Vice City had a terrific soundtrack, for example. Overall winner is San Andreas for sure.
I don't understand the people here who voted IV for its engine and other graphics related stuff. Time doesn't stand still; of course it looks better than its predecessors. That does not make it a better game.
