The TTWO earnings call next week will answer this. If there's a big downward change to the earnings estimate then GTA V is out of this year.

I want to beleive it will release in OCtober but the way some of you refuse to beleive it's most likely a 2013 release is kind of sad.

The only way to truly show you how wrong we've been in the past is a quick recap of the year so far.

I would argue with you that f*cking COD is bigger by now. And they run TV commercials.

I also think R* needs heavy marketing to bring GTA back on the map because it´s been so long.

The hardcore fans will be there day 1, but R* wants to sell the game to a lot more people believe me.

I'm not sure what you are getting at... San Andreas had 5 months of marketing starting with the Game Informer cover story in May 2004.

The fact is, I'm 99.9% sure that this man is doing what 99.9% of the 2013 believers on this forum do: Try to tell themselves that GTAV won't come out this year, but secretly hope it does infact come out this year. They're trying so hard to believe themselves, that they feel the need to say it aloud.

The new trick is that everybody here bases their hopes on a super short marketing push.

But that wont fly.

Don´t forget that many people were disappointed with GTA IV - that wond scare of us, but it might scare of the more casual crew R* is counting on.

They need to put GTA back on the map in a big way with a long and heavy marketing campaign.

It's possible. Game websites and magazines get previews of the game and info before we do. Once R* gives them the Green Light, they will start giving info to the public.

But the trailer and the official website all came up less than 3 months before the game (no Rockstar Newswire back then). Red Dead Redemption had no Game Informer preview but did have a trailer come out a year before the game did. GTA V's early preview trailer is similar. The problem with Game Informer previews is that somewhere in those 10 pages there's going to be inaccurate information because magazines have to be prepared too far in advance to keep up with game development. Rockstar's recent comments on GTA V info stressed their desire to be accurate and suggested that delaying info helps them be more accurate.

I can argue that lots of people are beginning to hate Cod and it's getting repetitive for releasing a game each year. Also, people have money to waste, they can buy both games.

Bingo.

The money so far leads to this year, making a prediction otherwise is simply premature right now. Next week we'll have a new window opened.
Making bold statements about a course of financial action when R* is notoriously secretive about their flagship GTA, is a recipe for egg on the face IMO.
