Well they have a trailer and screenshots, not much but it is marketing nonetheless.

Fact - V is a massive series, everybody who games knows of Grand Theft Auto, therefore less marketing is required and all of rockstars recent releases since IV have pretty much been new IP's and need a lot of attention.

Fact - All main GTA's on console have been slated for October release.

Yes all of Rockstars recent releases have been early in the year since IV (which was delayed from Oct), but they have all been new releases possible released early in the year to avoid competition with blockbusters.
Yes Rockstars previous GTA releases were when the fiscal year ended at a different time.

But releasing a trailer 16 months before release seems a little silly.
Releasing a game a short time before the end of the fiscal year and forecasting giant profits seems a little silly as well considering the game could still be selling strongly before the next fiscal year.

It's a 50/50, both opinions 2012 and 13 are pretty reasonable at this point and insulting people is just unfair.

Oh how this site makes me laugh. One guy makes a comment in passing of believing we wont see GTAV this year, to get a response of "THIS GUY KNOWS SH*T! ONLY BELIEVE ROCKSTAR!"

As much as I'd LOVE GTAV to be released this year, I don't see it. I'm not scraping the bottom of the barrel by looking at Rockstars past market campaigns of games back when they were much cheaper to produce for one thing.

Only want to believe what Rockstar tells you?
