14 Gold
7 Silver
8 Bronze

That's quite astonishing so far for Great Britain.

Third in the gold medal and total medal tables, just a fantastic effort considering the size of Britain compared to many other nations.

I'm pretty sure we're top of the ranking if you go by Golds per capita/medals per capita. By quite a way too.

Absolutely fantastic, gave me goosebumps all over! It's really inspired me to get more active and perhaps take up a sport. I just wish I was several years younger and had the same attitude!

What a performance. GB started off slow but holy sh*t have they took off - I'm very proud to be witnessing all this. 6 in a day... may that lead to many more. Great respect to the winners, and you could feel the psychological strength being drawn from the massive surge of crowd support. It must have been a sensational way to win.

It's been really moving to see how much spirit they are showing; a fantastic day for Team GB. The atmosphere in the Olympic stadium was just, wow.

Two things I've learned in the last hour:
1) Olympic Race Walking is a thing
2) It's f*cking brutal

That's a russian collapsing from exhaustion at ~16km.

I just know the marathon athletes are sat in the village wondering what the f*ck this sh*t is.

I just saw that on TV. The guy looked like he was dying. He was laying there, and looked like his eyes were rolling into the back of his head. Nevermind the fact that he is so skinny that he looks like he just got released from a death camp.

I was watching the women's 800 m and the men's 10,000 m today, so obviously props to Great Britain on a good job. That Ennis girl... mmm.

In other Olympics news, Canada won its first gold in trampoline today.

[EDIT] Should add I watched the women's 800 m as part of the heptathlon. Some damn fine looking ladies there. Mmm.

Huh? It's a perfectly valid measurement of how a country does at making great athletes out of its population. With a higher population you've statistically got a better chance of having naturally gifted people. The fact that it puts GB way on top is purely coincidence tounge.gif .

Anyway, Team GB takes gold in another event: flag waving.

What an amazing day yesterday was! Have to admit I was maybe screaming at the TV when Ennis came in, and even more so for Farah. Absolutely spectacular stuff!

Furthermore, I'm amazed at how well we are doing on the medals table.

I came into this Olympics not really caring all that much about it, but from the very moment of the opening ceremony, I now can't get enough of it!

I've been watching on and off, but Australia 1 gold? mercie_blink.gif

Have to admit I'd love to see Great Britain finish on top ahead of the U.S and China. It'd be nice to see an underdog topple the superpowers of the games.

Not just that, he's now the most decorated Olympic sailor ever.

As for Murray, I'm watching now but have only just remembered that I have no idea how the scoring in tennis works. I'm pretty sure he's winning though.

Leading 2:0 in sets, 6:2 and 6:1, 3rd to begin now.

Just watched the tennis final and wow. What a game for Andy Murry. Quite the weekend the British are having!

Reminds me of the feeling of watching Canadians win gold back in 2010 in Vancouver.
