Well, I bought GTA IV on steam yesterday and I having low fps with a PC that exceeds minimum requirements. I set the game on 800x600, LOW textures, draw distance and that stuff in 5, VSync off and I have 20-25 FPS, and where are explosions or too many cars/people I have 16-20. This, talking at Multiplayer, of course.
I have installed the 1.0.7.0 Patch.
These are my specs:
AMD Athlon II X2 250 3.0GHz 3GB RAM DDR2 800MHz ATI Radeon HD4670 1GB GDDR2 Windows 7 32bit
Thanks.

| QUOTE (Exxon @ Monday, Jul 23 2012, 10:25) | Don't downgrade, reinstall the game and then use patch 4 | I don't think you can downgrade the Steam version, as Steam has Auto updates, thus meaning the latest Patch will more than likely get installed the first time the game is ran? | QUOTE | | I can't reinstall, I would have to download 15 GB again (from Steam), sad.gif Is there any way to put the 1.0.4.0 patch without reinstalling? |
Why can't you re-install?-You have to un-install the game first, thus meaning the disc space used is regained...Installing the game only takes about 10-15 minutes, so it is not a big wait until you get to play the game...Don't make sense as to why you can't try that simple-easy method?

| QUOTE (tomi19 @ Monday, Jul 23 2012, 11:57) | | The disk-space is not the problem, is the 12-hours that the download takes. (I have a slow internet) |
It does NOT take 12 hours to download-it only takes about 15-20 minutes to download and about 10 minutes to install....I have the Steam version too, is how I know...and my download speed is up to 18mbps(however, it only did a max. of 3mbps during the actual download for some reason..) No offense, but something doesn't add up there? | QUOTE | | If I reinstall how can I use patch 4 |
That depends on if you have the Download version OR the Retail(DVD) version...If you have the Retail(DVD) version, just un-install, delete the rest of the install directory that didn't get deleted with the traditional un-install and then re-install..then simply download and install Patch 4 and that's it... However, if Legal Download version, you have to figure out a way to bypass the Auto Updates so the Patch 4 will stay and not get updated to the latest one the first time you run the game...SlaveZerO is the one that mentioned how it's done on the Steam version, however, I cannot find that topic for some reason...Long story short, it is more difficult this way than with the DVD version... OP you will need to turn of auto update in steam
