Like I said back when VC came out R* probably had no intentions of ever using him again. By making him look stronger and more charismatic than his VC rendition it opened up a large debate among fans.

Because VC was before VCS, back then they didn't know they'd be using Vic again.

I don't think they had the idea they could tie the games together until they had already made Vice City.

If Vice City Came AFTER VCS, Then Vic's Appearance Would Be the Same As In VCS Only He'd Look A Little Older, Plus They'd Have Some City Features of VCS Into VC. If VCS Came Out Earlier, Than It Would Make Sense About How VC Came Into Being For Example.

This Way We'd Know How And Why the Drug Deal Got Ambushed, After All, Gonzalez Works For Diaz And Diaz Is the Biggest Drug Baron. So Diaz Must've Sent A Hit on the Deal.

As Well As That, We'd Know More About Phil,Lance And Vic Than We Knew About them When VC Came Out.

So End Of Conclusion, Vic Died Because Rockstar Didn't Know They'd Use him Again.
Lance Died Because Tommy Treated him Like A Kid.

Lance is dead once you shoot all the men on the rooftop of vercettis mansion you can walk to where lance is and see a massive pool of blood and he does not move. Hes dead.

Any incase anyone is curious about Sonny Forelli you can see a spade at the front right of vercettis mansion which is a sign Sonny Forelli was buried there. Why he would be burried there at my guesses is probably Tommy's way of holding the forelli mafia family by the balls so they would not be able to retaliate against Tommy for fear of Tommy seeing to it the forelli mafia family would never recover sonys body.

Or its possible Tommy may of extorted the remaining money the Forelli family had in exchange for Sonys body's safe return for burial in liberty city.

This would explain why you do not see Sonys corpse after the huge mansion fight. What happend to Lance Vances corpse no one knows nor do i think anyone cares.

my father did that about my mother quite a bit a few years ago.

look at the final cutscene, if Lance was injured, he should appear in the cutscene and tommy will say something like "Get out from here you backstabber prick!" to Lance, asking him to leave the mansion, well....

Michael Jackson is alive because there is a poster of him on the street..

There is nothing to prove that's not someone who looks like him or the picture was taken before his death.
Also, Rockstar often puts Easter eggs like that in the game. That does not mean he is alive.

Well, Rockstar took Michael Jackson's look to Lance Vance even in GTA: Vice City.
