OT: I don't feel R* have truly made a "bad" game. Sure there are some I'm not really fond of (LCS, the Smuggler's Run games etc), but it's not because I think they're bad. They're good games just not something I "love".

Then again there are few games in general that I think are bad. Usually if I feel something is going to suck I avoid it like a plague in progress. I'm pretty easy to please really.

As for bad R* games, definitely the stories games sucked. Max Payne 3 wasn't a bad game, in fact it was great... it just didn't really live up to the other two in the series. If it were a standalone shooter not named Max Payne 3, it'd have all your blessings.

Manhunt - great concept, but bland execution.
Manhunt 2 - repeated the same under-developed formula as the first one with a much sh*ttier story. I'd actually love to see a third attempt done with the RAGE engine, but I think we're sh*t out of luck, f*ck you very much governments around the world.
Max Payne 3 - even if it were called something else, it would still be a generic, one-trick pony with some otherwise great visuals. I actually wish this had been Manhunt 3 instead. The grizzly Brazilian setting would have worked incredibly well for a Manhunt title.

Actually, I felt like VCS was better in the storyline than IV, it shows how the crime doesn't pay (your gf gets killed, ur mom stole the drug, your sergeant betrays u ) and also shows us how even if you have the power of all the city, even if you have all the money in the world, everything will go down the toilet because you will get killed after all, no matter what do you do, if you live in a life of crime you'll never get out and will kill your family, friends, and you at the end

The GTA-storylines were all unrealistic, repetitive and somehow very lacking. That does not make the series bad though, it's the best in the genre. As I've mentioned before, I don't play GTA for the story. Compared to the original Max Payne games, they have slaughtered MP3. You need to be a fan in order to understand this and not somebody who jumped on the bandwagon last May. Seperated from the series, it's a good game though. Smuggler's Run and State of Emergency just weren't for me. Beaterator was downright silly. I don't need virtual instruments or drum machines to make music, then I definitely do not need a PSP game.

The other games were the bomb. Apart from MP3, I enjoyed them all, no matter whether R* developed or just published.

Except they did not even make state of emergency 2. DC Games bought the IP from rockstar in an attempt to start a major series, and they developed the second game but it flopped horribly for being bland, uninteresting and too hard for anyone to play. The series was ended after it flopped.

State of emergency 1 was awesome, but the second was horrible. Rockstar NEVER should of sold it. It could of been there next big IP.
