@oyster: If you got a thousand pounds just for the GPU I'd suggest spending some on the GPU and
A. Upgrade some other parts B. Save it
1000 pounds is a bit too much to be spending on the graphics card alone |
Here in australia, everything is expensive. Period.
OT: for ram you can never go wrong with Kingston. I have it. ASUS makes some awesome motherboards, currently I'm using an ASUS. | You know you can buy from an e-retailer, only extra cost is for shipping, which won't be that expensive. @finn: fun to have a superbuild? I don't think so. But it's fun to have a limited budget and a cheap build, upgrading it slowly.

| QUOTE (finn4life @ Sunday, Jul 22 2012, 07:07) | Filled with hard drives? It's fun to have a super build if you have the money, powerful components that make a difference is obviously what you want and if money isn't an issue go all the way. But it comes to a point where it is wasteful, do you have a bunch of SSD's? Or 5TB worth of normal HDD space for no reason?
Curious is all I am.
EDIT: see underlined text for the edit, my phone auto-corrected. |
Well when i first brought the PC it comes with a 1.5tb drive HDD, after 2 weeks it suffered hard drive failure when it came back they had replaced it with a 2tb HDD. the current motherboard it has is tiny were talking tinier than a micro atx board. It has 2 connections for SATA one taken by the DVD ROM and the other taken by the HDD hence its maxed out. In terms of storage for the new one the more the merrier. When i last built a PC from scratch in 97 or 98 time i had a 20gb hard-drive that was more than enough, Nowadays that's barely enough for a game so if game installs keep going up and up then the more space the better in my eyes, especially if i'm looking to get at least 2 or 3 years out of the beast! this is it at the moment!
