Killing Catalina was much more satisfying than killing Smoke. GTA III is the hardest 3D game of the series.

How is IV better than SA?? besides the graphics, please tell me.

I can't speak for dragon_goran_mijo, but some of my reasons why GTA IV is better (Well more enjoyable for me atleast).

-The side missions are consistent with a life of crime. Why would a hardened criminal become a courier on a BMX or work at a Quarry?

-The city of LC is far more interesting and "alive" than LS, SF and LV combined. Seriously walk the streets in any of these cities and they all feel dull and dead. The abundance of clone peds doesn't help much either.

-The characters are more interesting and less 1 dimensional. The only characters I really rate from SA are Ceasar, The Truth and Woozie. Most of the other interesting ones like Salvatore, Ken etc were already made famous from their appearances in GTA III and VC.

-I don't really care if anyone agrees with me or not, but I rather go bowling, play pool, watch the tv etc than the majority of the minigames in SA.

-The story is more consistent and flows a lot better. The LS part of SA was quite good until the countryside. I found the SF part quite dull and the desert part a bit stupid. LV was pretty good though with the mafia angle, but the whole story felt disjointed and didn't know what it wanted to be half of the time.

It's not necessarily bad, but GTA IV's is a lot more interesting to me.

Anyway what I love about SA fanboys is they only assume people like GTA IV for the graphics. confused.gif

In SA you could do more than just minigames/video games; infact you can play pool in SA, you can also play basketball too.

You don't have to do the Querry Missions or the BMX Training.

I never liked LC(3/III) Claude was a mute he never spoke, he was extremely boring, Plus i never understood his past. Big whoop killing Catalina (Even though the b#!ch deserved it) I just hate III, i never will play it again.

I hope you realize I was talking about GTA IV not GTA III.

I'm probably coming out of nowhere, but perhaps Rockstar targeted San Andreas for newcommers to the GTA series? If I never heard of the GTA series, I would defiantly be more interested in jetplanes and explosions rather than long dialogue and building an empire.

Probably. I remember at the time thinking how different it was to GTA III and VC. It seemed to break the trend of simplicty.

That's why I like GTA IV. It went back to roots that GTA was without the need for a bazillion features.

GTA 4 didn't seem to go "back to the roots" to me, if you're counting GTA 3 as a "root". I guess it was a bold, new direction to attract new fans and amaze the old ones.

Thats your opinion.

I don't think so, when i played III, the minuet Catalina backstabbed him that was his # one goal, to kill Catalina from that point on.... I lost interest in the game, the game got boring It's a proven
See if it's anybodies past you have to guess, it's Claude not CJ

it's a proven. fact you've never played SA.

In my opinion San Andreas is the most overrated game in the GTA series. It has always been my least favorite GTA.  I have my reasons for disliking SA.

1. The setting is not my thing. I don't like the whole street gang/"gangsta" crap. It just does NOT interest me. That alone made me have doubts about San Andreas.

2. CJ is a crappy protagonist. He took way too much crap from people like Tenpenny, he was kicked around for almost the entire game. If that had been Tommy Vercetti in CJ's place during many of  those cutscenes with C.R.A.S.H, Tenpenny would been shot in the face. I did like Tenpenny as a villan, he was one of the redeeming factors of San Andreas.

3. A LOT of annoying missions. So many of the missions in San Andreas where not enjoyable, they where just frustrating and annoying.  I don't play GTA to play some crappy DDR clone minigame.

Just a few of my gripes with San Andreas. Feel free to give your feedback.

i love vice city but you say san andreas is overrated??? are you even a GAMER???

this angers ME! devil.gif

and cj bad protaganist?? what more do you want?? gangs customisable characters?? what ???

and annoying missions? thats how it is what you want missions that you know are for 7 year olds??

games have to be challenging not booooooorrriiiinnngggg.....

you annoy ME! san andreas overrated ? seriously?

I think they are all extremely easy. GTA3 may have some missions that can be time consuming but that's mostly down to the game being less advanced compared to the follow-ups. For instance, "Silence the Sneak" can be pretty hard on PS2 because you can't move the camera around as easily as in LCS or VCS, which makes getting an accurate grenade shot hard.

C'mon, really? SA's map was just lazy and geographically inaccurate. Wow, three cities with boring and empty deserts and countryside between, that's the best map evar!!1

Seriously, Los Santos was boring and felt dead. San Fierro's space was wasted by big wide roads. And Las Venturas was a city that was there for no reason.

That was absolutely not an excuse to hate San Andreas, but an opinion.

That's your opinion. I just wish you had an explanation as to why you feel the way you do other than the fact that since it's San Andreas, you have an automatic bias against it.

What? I feel that way because the map is too damn big and going anywhere takes longer than what you are actually doing when you get there. I played it again today just to see it, everything feels gray and I have no idea if I am actually going anywhere or just going in circles because everything looks the same to me.

And what GTAboyWonder said. Like they stuffed in a huge map just for the sake of it or because they felt like they had to (quantity-over-quality-alert in my opinion). I'm not really sure why people like this game so much but I understand and appreciate that everybody has their own opinions. I just hope you do the same as this is my one and it happens to differ from yours.

That can't be. I know most people had more problems completing San Andreas, some of the side missions are a lot harder and there were some difficult missions such as the flying school.

I don't think San Andreas is overrated. There are many reasons to love it. It was my favorite back when I first played it but now I pretty much prefer III for the modern atmosphere and it's got a good nostalgia factor for me. If I could actually play IV, that would be my favorite because it is similar to III.

None of the games are boring in my opinion, there are just different ways to appreciate them.

1. The whole map is surrounded by water. (although every GTA game map is)

2. Las Vegas isn't even that close to Los Angeles, let alone San Fransisco.

3. LA is in SoCal, SF is in North Cali, and LV is in Nevada.

4. Most people actually say Los Santos is inaccurate in every way.

5. Red County (Orange County in RL) is ridiculously too close to both LV and SF.

San Andreas' map is actually the MOST inaccurate one of all.

GTA III's map was based off multiple American cities, but there wasn't hours of time spent traveling between them.
