I'm also using the helicopter scene as a wallpaper. Other than that though, I'm bored of these screenshots. We really need a new trailer. I'm sure they won't keep this waiting much longer though. I'm nowhere near as pissed off with them as I was earlier.

You reap what you sow. PCs with max graphics in native 1080p won't have to worry about any ugly graphics that will be unavoidable on the console. Have fun looking at ugly low quality 720p trees come final release.

@DRN94, as long as it looks better than IV's graphics on the consoles I'm fine. And the games not even polished yet it looks good.

I agree that it is a huge step forward from GTA IV on the consoles but even then people still can't comprehend the simple concept of improving graphics on the same hardware is incredibly difficult/impossible for the developers to pull off and people have such ridiculous ignorant expectations concerning graphics. The problem I see is that these two screenshots are 720 pixels and they have yucky JPEG artifacts, which show up terribly when we blow up the scene to use as desktop wallpaper. Maybe they were single frames from outtake scenes from the GTAV Trailer, which would explain why they are only 720p.

This RDR screenshot was my wallpaper for more than a year before RDR was released. It made me happy every time I sat down at the computer. I want that same happiness now, day after day, anticipating GTAV.

This screen came out from Rockstar with a large group of others on 4 Feb 2009, more than a year and 3 months before the RDR game release on 18 May 2010. These screens were in high resolution and looked gorgeous, incredible. Even though the game was never released on PC, you can see the high resolution and the quality in the virtual world design - wow!

I am making two points here:

(1) I think that the 720p quality of these two paltry GTAV screenshots should not be the basis for a console vs PC war, because there is no technical reason why Rockstar marketing cannot get higher rez snapshots.

(2) For RDR, these beautiful screens appeared 15 months before release of the game. As I have ranted before, why is it so d*mn hard for Rockstar marketing to start feeding us a significant number of beautiful hi-rez GTAV snapshots NOW???

I have probably only looked at them about 3 times now. They are great, but looking at stills indeed get boring after a short while. The heliccopter pic is awesome, but I like the pic with the water/trees a bit more because I just love nature/scenery with trees and plants.

Honestly kid most pc games on ultra look just like the console version except the personal computer gets more fps and better resolution
