Two. How can you f*cking blame them? Go back and watch 2:02 to 2:08.
Its a BIT relevant to this. Four gangsters mobbing down innocents in a movie theater behind the curtain. Deja vu?

| QUOTE (sivispacem @ Saturday, Jul 21 2012, 07:27) | Then presumably you advocate civilian ownership of fully-automatic rifles, compact carbines, sub-machineguns, machine pistols and PDWs? There's little, if any, evidence that fully automatic weapons were more prone to being used in crime before they were banned, and little evidence from nations that have legal ownership of them in some context (namely Switzerland) that demonstrates they are used in violent or criminal activity any more than semi-automatic handguns. They were banned because they serve no sporting purpose and cannot be reasonably justified. Which makes it all the more ironic that rounds like the .950 JDJ have "sporting purpose" exemptions under the NFA, despite being roughly equivalent in muzzle energy to 30mm autocannon rounds.
Risk should always be assessed on potential for harm as well as evidence of actual harm.
| I don't mind people owning machine guns, they aren't the problem. Untreated/improperly treated mental illness is the problem. Banning machine guns (and most other things) just creates smuggling and black markets where violent crime statistically does go up. Prohibition does not solve problems, in fact it can make things worse. If you actually want to solve the problem of mass murderers, the best solution is giving these people mental health treatment before they snap.

I'm also wondering that out of the 6000 ammunition he bought, how much he actually fired. We probably won't find out until there's an official report but it couldn't be as high as that. |
He came in through the back door. He went out of the back door. Security measures: | Sad and true that most theaters are lenient when it comes to their exits. The only thing this theatre in town has is a security camera at their exit. No one cares too much about piracy because they make most of their money on opening weekend anyways - so I'm not surprised if that's the only time its on. For some reason I couldnt sleep tonight. Something just doesn't sit with me and this mass killing. How does one order 6,000 rounds from the internet and doesn't raise a flag? Someone had to know something was going on. I also remember seeing a video not more than 2 days ago about how they took weapons away from locals durig Hurricane Katrina and they were order to shoot anyone who didn't comply. All the dumb ass comments on the internet doesn't make it better. The conspiracies are even worse. Don't know what to think.

The recent reports suggest that he had bought a ticket and was sitting in the movie when it started. He went out of the rear exit, collected weapons, dressed for the mayhem and came back through the same rear exit.

I thought Security sucks in India but happy to hear it's even in all countries. Also, will the people of that town (Denver) will do a Candle Light March? Don't know if it's a tradition or not in USA, we do here when there has been mass killing. The public, to show their gratitude, do this. This is what a Humanity and I will also join them. |
There was some sort of vigil in Aurora last night I think. Not sure if it was the whole cliched thing with candles, but how isn't as important as if it actually happened, which it did. I can't imagine what it's like to be in that town or know someone who was involved. It's always nice to see that people naturally rally together to remember those who've fallen in such a tragedy, and the support that goes out to families of the victims and to the survivors. It's been said countless times, but these people just wanted to go an enjoy a massively anticipated movie. To turn something so exciting and joyful into something, well something like this, is horrific. E: Just heard a news bulletin on the radio that confrimed a vigil went ahead last night. they talked to some of the people who were there and hearing them talk about what happened was pretty heartbreaking and pretty positive too. One guy talking about how they're staying strong and won't let their city live in fear because of this was pretty inspirational (and strangely close to home for something that happened at a superhero film). Can you please start to stop cursing Indian safety and security for God's sake? It is NOT how you have been describing in this thread. Do you understand how it is to deal with 1.2billion population's security? Can you even type FBI's full form without googling it? I mean no disrespect but please think before you post something about a nation you live in and know about. @stu I guess he wants fame.

I guess he wants to be known as evil genius, as now bomb squad is going to ignite the bombs in his apartment due to complexity of the wiring. I have to admit, he's a genius.
Of some sort, he could've used that knowledge for something useful... |
I think you haven't got the grasp of what a genius is. If he'd escaped clean, maybe. But he's wired some complex explosives - that isn't ingenious, but well prepared and deranged.
