When I saw the Topic, I was like WTF, this was done a few weeks ago, so I read the OP, and I was like, WTF, this guy copied this Topic from the Original guy..

Then I looked at the Date. Ah. Makes sense now.

What's not to like about those screenshots? I thought they were great! More than what I was expecting.

Some screenshots of the country side would be primo! July 31st guys, gotta watch that date for any annoucements.. if not, August 2nd.

It was good to know that R* finally acknowledged their GTA fans and posted them, and for that I was excited. But within the Q&A when they stated that they wouldn't be ready to show us anything substantial "for a while yet", that kind of took the wind out of the sails for me. the screens do look great, and the city looks gigantic in that heli pic, which is promising, but we knew that already, as houser said it was a very big map and R*'s announcement said it's going to be the biggest game to date.

As I said, it's nice R* recognized the fanbase and gave us another tease, but IMO it wasn't anything mindblowing. We're still in the dark about EVERY aspect of the game: Story, gameplay mechanics, all around graphical updates, new features, characters, etc etc.

The chopper one just still seems a bit dull and grey, I was hoping for similar colour pallete as to what's in MC:LA, something about the park though looks great

They didn't show or reveal anything.. I thought 'nice helicopter' and that was about it. The parkshot looks unfinished, like it needs ambient occlusion (indirect shadows). Look at the people sitting: they have a drop shadow but no contact shadow, most obviously the person in white and the whole scene has a washed out look.

It's an easy fix though so I'm disappointed. It looks pretty much like I expected: the same as IV but with improved textures, shaders, effects.

And it made me realize that still shots really don't do the game justice and I expect the eye candy to come not from graphical fidelity but from the way everything moves and fits together, the animation and physics etc.

I really hope that we will have more helis(Annihilator, Buzzard, Maverick, the new one), and more than one model for Police Cruisers, taxi cabs, ambulances, firetrucks.
So we'd have few types for each one.

In the helicopter screenshot I was a little bumbed since I noticed the Beverly hills city hall was like three blocks away from downtown giving me the idea that the westside of LS would be very small, but let's hope not.

Really loving the fact that the waterpaint graphics(only noticeable during the day in the game on consoles) are gone, even though the trailer already showed that. I really like the much improved reflection the water. The fact that the chopper is high in the sky and you still can see the shadows cast from the buildings. Impressive.

But....i would have prefered other screenshots where it's much more crowded and like it has been said here....the countryside.

I agree.. I think the screenshots look just as good as the trailer. And there are noticeable improvements with the lighting and textures compared to GTA IV. I think the sky and the clouds in GTA V look alot better aswell as we've seen from the trailer. Everything looks alot more vibrant aswell which is nice even though there isn't a huge amount of graphical improvement...

Well, it may look like the graphics haven't improved that much. But take a good look at things like the pedestrians in IV and compare them to the trailer of V, they look alot more detailed. I'm sure when you play it...you will see how much actually has been improved. I have all the faith in Rockstar.

Oh yeah I know that.. I'm sure there will be alot of small details. Rockstar did a good job in GTA IV with many small details so i'm sure they exceed with that in GTA V.. I can't wait to see what the countryside looks like. The people do look a lot better aswell... I'm not sure, but it looks like they're gonna use the face scan technology that they used in LA Noire.. If they do then i'll be really happy because the face animations in LA Noire look incredible!
