Whilst roaming the streets alone in Liberty City on my crotch-rocket something that i feel is an important topic came to mind and that would be motorcycle damage. I have noticed how whenever i drove around on a motorcycle in GTA IV and crashed it, there was never really any decent amount of damage done besides the usual busted headlight. So my question is do you think that in GTA V the damage on motorcycles need to be improved in any way when you crash it or do you feel flying off your bike is already damaging enough to your bike and/or body?

I personally feel that the damage really needs to be much improved. I would like to see more damage such as wheels being bent in and maybe even have parts come off it just like cars, but on a smaller scale. Please submit your opinions and have a nice day.

As always lock if needed. I did search around and have found nothing.

I don't like the idea of the tires being bent, that would be annoying. But I would like to see more damage to stuff like the frame or handlebars. The only time you saw that was if you drive a car and ram the bike into a wall or something like that.

The problem with this is that even the smallest dent to the front would render the bike almost completely useless.

I've also wondered about this. GTA IV delivered amazing vehicle damage physics, but motorcycles never got that awesomeness.

Any improvements would be welcomed!

I like your frame and handlebars idea. I would really like to see R* do something like that.

I really think jumping from a reasonable height (say the top of a building) on a motorcycle should snap the frame or atleast bend it.

i wouldn't say useless. A small dent would certainty make driving more difficult, but it would only be rendered useless unless you were to get into a really bad crash.

Haha I could imagine one of those pieces flying at pedestrians at high velocity and decapitating them. lol.gif

I feel the same, I don't see how falling from a distance would do nothing to it. Rockstar has always seemed to neglect motorcycle damage and if they have bicycles i would like to see some damage done to those also.

Along with the actual bike catching fire I'd only like to see the damage extend to exterior scratches/dents. I wouldn't like to see any bent wheels or anything like that. It might seem realistic but it'd get tedious and annoying.

I'm in the half of GTA fans that wants V to be more fun and stupid than realistic anyway...

well i'm not one of those realism freaks either, but i feel if they improved it on the cars and boats why shouldn't they do it on bikes. Whenever i drive a bike i feel i am still playing on the old engine they used instead of rage and euphoria.

Even if you are one of the fun and stupid 50% I can still see where you're coming from. At the time of my post I hadn't seen MiamiVC's first post, and I also like his idea of the frame, or even the spokes, warping and twisting and getting all screwed up, making the car impossible to ride like how if the bodywork of a car digs into the tyre in GTA IV the car wouldn't drive properly.

This would actually be a GTA first, if i remember well, i don't think there has been proper motorcycle damage in any 3D GTA.

Other than busted headlights and tires, the only way you knew your bike was f*cked up was because white/gray smoke was coming out of it, this would be a pretty cool concept if used properly but i'm not really sure if R* would actually apply this, we will just have to see i guess.

I can see how this would be fun but can also see how it could get really frustrating, i mean how would you take something like that to a Pay 'n Spray?

hmm this is an oversight. The fairings and bodywork could snap off or dent and miamivicecities idea's a good one - but i think doing motocycle jumps, you'd have to use the left stick to level out so you could land perfectly - and you wouldnt break your bike. Land unevenly and your bike would snap.

Would be cool to see either way. Mostly asthetic damage, because the tiniest damage to the steering would have dire effects

If you go on Youtube there's tons of videos of people on bikes trying to make jumps only to land wrong and bend/snap a frame.

While a bit off topic it should be the same for cars too. An awkward landing results in severe suspension/chassis damage.

I think in real life a bike is less likely to come apart than a car too.. it's much smaller and lighter so it bounces easier. Most of the impact is absorbed by the front wheel, which'll of course ruin the suspension fork and everything but if you add that to GTA tiny crashes are going to make your bike useless..
