i5 2500K OC 4.7GHz, 8GB DDR3 1600MHz, Nvidia GTX 670 OC 2GB GDDR5. Runs Max Payne 3 at over 120 fps most of the time (My monitor is vsynced to 120hz) and GTA IV runs at 60 to 70 fps. Considering GTA 4 is not very optimized to run on the PC I'm confident that GTA V will run better than GTA IV does on my rig. I'm expecting more than 60 FPS all the time.

if you can run gta IV nicely then i think you will be able to run V, it looks about the same as IV and it is being run on the same game engine.

Seeing as GTA IV needed a PC that was built in the year 2020 to run it smoothly, its hard to say.
But this is my rig, got the parts, just gotta put it together.

Intel i7 3930K
Asus X79 Delux
16GB Gskill Trident X
EVGA GTX 690
Intel 180GB 520 SSD
WD Black Edition 1TB

I'll probably Over clock it and see what I can get.

It should run at a good 40-50 fps on medium if GTA IV is anything like Max Payne 3.

@Nic i think it might use less resources than GTA IV or very close to the same amount as IV, Max Payne 3 was developed in parallel maybe IV will be too.

If you were overclocking why didn't you get Sandy Bridge?
Also why did you get 16GB of ram? it's incredibly redundant considering gaming rarely uses more than 4GB of ram and the fact that you can always add more very easily at a later time if you had to, unless you happen to be a graphic designer and need to have multiple programs open at the same time while rendering videos or something.

I can't run gta iv higher than at a medium-ish setting (due to the sh*tty pc version). but I can run pretty much every other game at max or close to max. I hope gta v is better optimized for pc. If not I have a ps3 which I would much rather play on anyway. imo gaming feels better on consoles because i've been using consoles forever. and if I play a game on a computer all day I feel like a fat ass slob for some reason but i don't if I play all day on consoles tounge.gif feel free to hate my guts

This, except my GTA IV runs horrible at any setting other than High (yep, Medium is slower than High). Also,

i7 2600K
16 GB RAM Corsair Vengeance
Radeon HD 6970
2x1TB HDD
120 GB SSD (for the OS)

Umm, It is a Sandy Bridge.
Can't get an IVY Bridge for my motherboard yet.. Socket 2011.

16GB of ram isn't overkill in my opinion.
I could only buy the Trident in blocks of 4gb, so I bought 4 to make use of the quad channel motherboard(not that quad channel will really be utilized properly)

I do a lot of video encoding from my HD camcorder to Blurays (most for my dad), also rip a lot of blurays to have them on my external Hard drive etc. Thats one of the reasons why I went with the 2011.
