I have the Steam version of GTA San Andreas. I have downgraded the script and the .exe to V1 but I still can't find a way to unlock gta3.img and gta_int.img so that I can mod them. The folder seems to be read only and I can't change it because when I untick it then it just changes it back to read only. I just want to mod my game! I run Windows 7 Home Premium and I need help!

You're going to need a tool called IMG Tool 2.0. Put the IMGTool.exe file in your main San Andreas directory and then open it. First off everything, remember to back up your gta3.img file. After you've backed it up, open the IMG Tool, press File and Open. And search for gta3.img & gta_int.img. Hope this helps.

I know how to mod, it's just in IMGTool when I replace a dff or txd, it doesn't replace. It always shows the same offset when I try to replace and even if I try to test it, it remains unchanged. So I guess that even if I downgrade the exe and the script I still can't mod gta3.img or gta_int.img and it's been pissing me off for the past two days. IMGTool says, when it loads, Version 2 archive loaded. Does that mean that my gta3.img and gta_int.img are v2 or v3? If so, how do I downgrade them to make them moddable again?

Have you followed this when you downgraded? Besides, you need to close the IMG Tool to save the changes, I believe.

I close IMGTool. I tried that downgrade. It worked for the exe but NOT for unlocking gta3.img for modding. I need it unlocked. Not just the exe. I need to be able to mod the img files.

As I have said 20 times earlier. It is NOT the exe. It is the img files. I can't mod them becuase of Rockstar locking those files after the great disgrace of Hot Coffee. I need a way to fix that so I can mod the img files. I have a v1 exe.
