I got thinking about this after reading the boat topic. R* haven't really ever utilised beaches in any great way, at least not to my recollection. We had them in VC and in SA, but apart from a couple of NPC's laying down with towels there hasn't been very much going on down on the beaches. People also jogged at the ones on IV and did yoga too. But again, that's not a whole lot, especially compared to the vast possibilities.

Beaches in GTA always feel pretty lifeless, when in real life they can be some of the most fun, exciting, crowded and action packed places there are. Maybe it's just been a while and my memory is poor, but I can't remember in any GTA people actually swimming in the sea near the beach. Wouldn't it be great if we had a lifeguard tower with a lifeguard in it, people swimming in the water, jetski's (since we know they're in the game) riding around, maybe even some surfers and wind surfers, people building sand castles, people playing beach volleyball. Just stuff to make it an exciting place to visit with interesting things happening.

What do you guys think about beaches? And what ideas would you like to see implemented in order for beaches to become more interesting and fun places to visit.

I agree. I think it'll be a lot different this time with the A.I improvements seen in GTA IV and RDR. I mean we're heading to sunny California. Beaches should have a lot more life.

I mistakenly read "Life's a bitch". Anyways, until the Protagonist has a crush on someone and they go for a beach walk and kiss each other, R* won't give a f*ck about beaches. But love story, sounds interesting and not so related to GTA (Grand Theft Auto). I bet that many of us will replay the mission and think about their love just because of this. There should be Dawn and Dusk and not like GTA VC where clock hits 8 PM, in milliseconds, the moon comes up and the sun goes down.

But I hope there's more to do. Surfing. Beach volley could be a cool minigame. Jetski stunt races. Beach Parties (same as a club, just outdoors). Maybe being a lifegaurd could be a sidemission like driving the ambulance is. In that case I hope there's sharks. There's a fitness area in the trailer, so maybe that's interactive. And of course a couple of missions where a multi car chase somehow ends up on the beach at the busiest point of the day

Ye, I agree. I think its achievable to implement things like Jet Skies (Speedophile 2000's) in the same way boats act in water as vehicles like GTA IV for example.

However, as far as building sand castles go, I doubt that achievable, and capable of perfection. Hopefully other things like swimmers, dancers, sun-bathers etc.. just to add some life to the beaches, because as MiamiViceCity said, its heading to a re-imagined SoCal, where its all about sun & beaches

I could imagine the protag like "20 bucks for a Jetski? That's a steal!" or something corny like that.

Oh yh, I totally forgot about that mission, I hated it too. To add some more ideas, I'd love a bit of water skiing and parasailing too. Not necessarily even to be able to actually get in the parachute thing itself, but just to hijack the boat that is pulling it along would be pretty funny.

I kinda liked the "lifeguard" minigame seen in Vice City Stories, were we had to get in a red BF Injection/Boat around the beach saving people and such...

We could have something like this again, I wouldn't mind.
