hi guys , i found a nice hunting shotgun but texture is 800 Ko , i would like to make it go under 600 Ko (if it's possible) . but after spending some time on photofiltre i canno't manage to get a nice result . do you know tips to lighten textures yourself

you'll need to import gun@baretta (anim.img) animation if you want a more realistic reload

still need to find a nice light sized sound mod . none of the upload sites ones satisfies me (i'll edit if i find one)

merci . always weird to talk to another french in english . i don't have photoshop , i'll try with photofiltre , or by simply reducing the image size it works too . textures are obviously low res but difference is difficult to see in game . now i need to now how to remove that pump shot reloading anim and it will be perfect user posted image


edit : could not managed to make your thing work . well i edited some weapon parts with less detailled ones (see below) , resized to 256x256 and i manage to get a 536 Ko wtd instead of 861 , not bad i guess (see pic)

you need weapon editor to do it.
just copy barreta settings(all of them)
and put the same settings in the shotgun

if you dont want to do it, you can also go to the anims.img in anim folder and export one .wad file called w@barreta (i'm not sure if it is well written)
and rename to the shotgun anim name and import as false w@shotgun or whatever it is

IMPORTANT!:make backups always.i guess it will work ,at least it worked for me a couple of times but if you have any fail or something just let us know. icon14.gif

by the way, that last texture is worst than the first one you've posted. thats my opinion.why dont you make it brighter and that's all'

ok , replaced gun@shotgun by gun@baretta and it works . it's not perfect but it's nice . man , if you try to lighten a texture it can't be better than the original whatsthat.gif . for having been a hunter for some period of my life i can say that the tweaked texture is not that bad . check the weapons default textures they're all low or very low res and that doesn't bother anyone smile.gif .
now i need to know why when i pickup i get only 8 rounds , while i asked the weapon editor to give me 25

ok man i agree with that.
use weapon editor to edit the number of ammo inside a clip and all that stuff.
you can download it apart but there is another soft called IV Needle and it has it all(IDE editor,Weapon editor....and more stuff).

use a plugin called Normal Map for GIMP.(image editor,in case you didnt know that).
just place the files where the readme.txt says.
(new version of GIMP available(2.8.0)).

CODE

Normal colors info:
purple-teal(black-white)
pink-blue(dark grey-lightened grey)
.....

invert "y" in the normal map box.right click/filters/map/normalmap.
4 sample:for soft bumping
prewitt:for more z shift
sobel:hardest bumping(not so used)
