Hey there, I was thinking that perhaps the minimum characters per search could be decreased from 4 to 3, mainly because there are a lot of words/abbreviations/usernames that are actually popular in this forum.

For example, GTA. I can't search for posts containing 'GTA' because it's only 3 characters long, as well as searching for short usernames on a topic. I know this is a small suggestion, but I've found myself numerous times wanting to search for 3 letter words on this forum.

The limit is there for technical reasons - it's precisely because 3 letter words are so common that we can't allow it. Searching something like "GTA" on this forum has the potential to cause huge slowdowns. Until we update the code we have to work around IPB's ugly search implementation.
