| QUOTE (NewGamesTeam @ Monday, Jul 16 2012, 16:31) | | I of course appreciate good comments, but I will not listen idiots like you. Sorry, but if you don't like it, just get the hell out of this thread. I don't understand people like you, who just like to hate someone. | I understand that you feel like I want to bring you down but I just want to tell you how this will end in a nice way Believe me if I say that I had to learn it the hard way with people really being harsh! Everyone feels like he's going to make it and his ideas will work (and I'm the first one who would like to see you actually making it) But experience told me a different story Why do you think hundreds of people work 2 or more years on a GTA? It would be too hard for a single person even if he was a great programmer and had a lot of experience I was involved in some projects while being older than you (in one of them we were working in a team of about 12 persons and we gave up after 5 months because it's a hell lot of work) Not to talk about several web pages I tried to create (being about as old as you are right now) which totally failed because I was simply too young! I REALLY know it's hard to hear that but boy, you are only 13 years old don't get to worked up about this, you still have more than enough time to try something like this when you're a little bit older

The only slight bit of constructive criticism i see in your post is that it looks cheap, I'm pretty sure NewGamesTeam knows that this wont be the next AAA title, but you do have to start somewhere Simply giving up isn't going to get you anywhere! Keep on pluggin is all i can add to this, if anything doing little projects like this and teaching yourself the basics will only help latter on if you wish to pursue being a game designer/artist Make sure you work hard at school and try to make the right educational choices and hopefully you will come out of it older and wiser with the required knowledge in the fields you require! |
You are absolutely right but I'm pretty sure this whole game developing thing isn't his big dream... To me it looks like a 13 year old kid is hyped for GTA V and because of that the idea of making his own GTA rushed to his mind (you know how it is in that age) And I don't really think I should give more constructive critcism because then he will hate me even more... |
That is a horrible assumption to be making. You sound like a typical Bitter Bobby - someone who tried, failed and lost the ambition to proceed with various projects, so he goes around droning about how others are destined to fail just like he did. Sure, his game may never reach anything beyond a beta stage, but what is important is the experience gained in all of this. Everyone has to start somewhere, and if this is something he truly wants to do, then he's already off to a good start.

He's got the ability to do what he likes and spend his time how he sees fit. What he's achieved so far, I don't think many people his age can do. It shows a lot more creativity and willingness to learn. I don't understand why you are trying to belittle a 13 year old, but you've got to compensate your own insecurity somehow I guess. Anyway, keep it up.
