| QUOTE (KingNK @ Sunday, Jul 15 2012, 21:33) | For me:
Gionight Best ENB - It haves the BEST performance I ever seen, and it's good looking too.
iCEhancer (1.25, 1.35 and 2.0N) - Anything to say? And vary a lots from 1.25 to 2.0. 1.25 has something that really like me. Also, has a very good looking water sparks. |
I had terrible performance with Gionight's, hence why I didn't stick with it. I was getting around 15 - 30 FPS, with stutter... The visuals were great, but the hit on performance for me was too much. As for Icenhancer, or L3evo enbs, my FPS would never go below 30 with every setting on max.

That's a kinda weird. I have a middle-gamma computer and the Gionights, in moments, works with 50-60 fps. Only in some cases the fps decrease to 20-25. Obviously with all in maximum, except for the sliders, all in "middle-low" [Especially the view distance and detail distance]. Vehicle density is low for personal taste. Shadow density getting to 0 for recommendation in the snap inside the mod's files. This post has been edited by KingNK on Tuesday, Jul 17 2012, 02:26

Shadow density getting to 0 for recommendation in the snap inside the mod's files. | I've got a 560 ti and i5-2400 all in stock. So I suppose mine is around the mid range also... For Gionight's though, I tried the recommended settings from the .rar file. I didn't like it though, since I like everything on max, besides vehicle density. I can't stand having lower view distance and detail distance. It was also a bit too dark at certain points, and too saturated. It can be fixed I know, which I did, but just couldn't get over the performance issues. That's really why I didn't stick with it. So for ENB's with every settings on max, I had the worst performance with Gionight's ENB. I should have clarified earlier, sowwy.

Well, now this is more weird. I have an i3 2100, 4gb of RAM and a HD6850 1GB, running in Win7, all in stock too because my motherboard doesn't support OC. Also I play with FXAA (Not the one with comes the enb. I use the FXAA from yug's 74 enb, what is in fact the iCE 2.0 FXAA tweaked). An issue with nvidia maybe? An issue with nvidia maybe? | Maybe there's just some issues with my computer or something. Whatever. I just recently tried out a new ENB by Fonia5. He called it "Icenhancer X." And my God, it is awesome. Yes there are flaws, but this is a pretty awesome ENB without eating much FPS. The lowest I had so far was 35, with the "maximum AA" version of the ENB. And yes, all my in-game settings are at max as usual. It's really good. I think anyone who likes Icenhancer should give it a shot. It does have some issues though. The timecyc that came with the ENB was completely messed up, and unusable. It worked perfectly without them though, so no biggie.

| QUOTE (metal886 @ Tuesday, Jul 24 2012, 21:52) | At the moment I think that ICEnhancer 2.1 with FXAA is the best, runs well and looks awesome (all time of days look great). Good visuals are not enough, it needs to run well too IMO (I mean what you do with nice graphics if its diashow).
I liked L3evo-enb too, that probably has the best performance of all (60fps average using 2500k+560ti), I tried DP 1.3 and I got like 15-20fps (SSAO disabled) so I cant like that too much if its not playable...With Gionights best enb I got pretty poor performance too, SSAO disabled med/high-settings I got like 20-35fps.
But ppl have different taste and some ppl get better performance using some of these configs, GTAIV is pretty poorly coded... |
Hehe, no $hit people have different taste. I think iCEnhancer 2.1 is the worst in the series. The only version I like from iCEnhancer is 1.25 (with userays off) Downside of 1.25 is that it lacks colors & it's all washed up (many people think it has realistic look.) L3EVO and Dpeasant3 are probably the best enb tweakers. All of their releases are good and consistent (unlike iCEnhancer). Those of you who like iCEhancer 1.25 should try KBL1974's L3EVO+ Modified ENB SettingsKBL1974 combined the best of E3EVO and iCEnhancer(1.25). From what I've seen, this is the most well balanced enb settings.

The reason why some of us feel Icehancer is the best series is because Ice does more than the average modder. Hes always looking for ways to improve and make installing these ENBs easier so they will be more common place among modders, he takes his time and is considerate of other modders with lower end systems so he makes atleast 2 or 3 diff performance versions and he always gives us a couple extra options. Alot of these ENB makers are arrogant twats who are quick to call others newbs or dummies for not knowing how to install ENBs. That's what I like about Icehancer you never hear him bragging about VIP this and VIP that, he wants everyone to be able to try his projects. Like right now hes working on a config tool, I think that's awesome and it will be for everyone.
2.1 looks and runs brilliant, Ice has def come along ways optimization wise, 2.1 runs like a champ. Like said above in order to be called the best the enb needs to have great eye candy and system performance. Not all of us only use these ENBs to post pretty screenshots in a certain thread, but we also like to explore and play the game the way its meant to be played.
In my opinion KBL1974 enb is the best looking ENB to date!
