My only broken controller was a SNES controller. The reason was Mario Kart on 150cc Rainbow Road. Even if you are in a position to settle for Third place in that last race and win the gold good f*cking luck even getting that. After smashing up the controller I came back with another and finally beat it.

QUOTE (Redketman @ Sunday, Jul 15 2012, 11:01)
But the only time I've actually destroyed anything was when I played Tony Hawk's Underground in 2007 or something. There was a mission that took me one and a half hour to beat and I felt that I was wasting my time (The worst thing that can happen when you play video games) and I swore many times. Anyway, I was very angry and when I had played that mission for an hour or so I threw the remote control in the wall with full power so that it was easily destroyed. My parents wasn't happy at all because remote controls can be quite expensive I guess.

Do you remember what mission it was? I have Tony Hawk's Underground and I've completed the story several times.

I used to own Mario Kart on the SNES, thought I never got angry at it. Good game though.

It was a mission were you had to collect medicine on a time limit. I'm pretty sure it was the Hangover Cure mission in Moscow. I guess it was all the jumping from rail to rail that was the annoying part. Overall it wasn't really a hard game though if I remember correclty. But some missions were challenging of course.

I've only completed the story once and that was five years ago.

I have byted my PSP in 2009-2010 a few times and threw it on floor too, while playing VCS abd LCS.
Also I nearly threw my xbox360 controller while playing Red Dead Redemption multiplayer. I just didn't, because I know what will happen =/

I threw my controller against the wall and left a giant hole in it (oddly the controller was still normal and in good shape) about twelve years ago when I was playing that old Jason Voorhees Camp Crystal Lake video game on the SNES or Sega Genesis, I think. That was the first and only time I ever broke somethign because of rage quitting.

Not since I was 9 or 10. It was my SNES controller, the game was Street Fighter 2. I cracked the controller right in half. To this day, I don't think I've ever played a Street Fighter game.

There have been a few times in the past couple years or so where I'm sure I got pretty upset, but I haven't done any damage. Only to pure ears though, I'm sure.

this is a funny topic.
good idea.

when I was maybe 10 or 11 I broke a few Nintendo 64 controllers.
if I was really pissed about something I would make a fist and smash the center of the control.

this always seemed to mess up the little joystick in the middle.
it would suddenly lose all calibration. you couldn't move your character in the direction you wanted, so the whole thing was basically useless from then on (especially in Mario Party lol...) I must have done that to 4 of those damn controllers. but I blame N64, they used cheap plastic tounge2.gif

Yes it sure was. And as I said it took me one and a half hour to beat. The most annoying thing of the mission was probably that it wasn't really that hard in the beginning. But then you had to jump all around and have perfect concentration and all that.

Damn near broke my controller the other day playing 5 Finger Fillet and high stakes Poker in Red Dead for the outfits. Instead, I smashed the f*ck out of an old Lego set that was on a shelf nearby, it's been there for a few years so I don't know how the hell I'm going to reassemble it.

I'm a very angry gamer. I ragequit a good bit and in total I've broken 2 PS2 controllers and screwed up my PS3 controller, I just tossed it and it somehow landed right on the seam and broke the screw thing so now it pops open a bit.

I found that mission easy, though I was probably doing it on an easier difficulty.

I threw my original Xbox headset after a particularly frustrating concession on Fifa... that's about it, I'm very careful with my games and console, and my Turtle Beach's have lasted very long too.

Man, I've lost count of what I've broken or damaged in anger, be it because of a game or something else. I wouldn't really consider it childish though, I just have a terrible temper, I find myself irritated and frustrated very easily. I don't think I've ever "ragequit", I tend to just hit or break something, and go back to what I was doing.

Lol, nostalgia. Haven't played that in forever, I remember I raged a lot on that last boss fight. Took a while to figure out a strategy.

They don't make controllers like they used to.

The standard rectangular NES controllers were perfect. Durable, yet lightweight enough that they probably won't break anything or hurt anyone when sent airborne for the first or the 1500th time.

I think it's when they started adding trigger buttons and analog pads that things got so fragile.

Dude you just gave me an awesome idea I might make millions off, lol.

The 'angry gamer controller' made of re-inforced steel, you can throw it at anything and doesn't break.

I threw a PS2 controller on by floor (carpet at the time) when I was trying (and failing) to complete the mission in Liberty City Stories titled "The Portland Chainsaw Masquerade" where you have to fight against five other guys trying to cut you up with their chainsaws onboard a ship in the harbor. Guess what, it survived. This was sometime in late 2007/early 2008 if my memory is correct. I usually didn't freak out over video games the way others do (on the internet) but all my life there's been some things that give me a very low amperage fuse.

The Chinese manufacturing base makes a good portion of the world's steel now, so the console manufactures actually wouldn't have that much of a problem in terms of price tag. Just in case, I'll hook you, Sony, and Microsoft up with Dofasco and Stelco in Hamilton. smile.gif
