I'm happy they have been released and look forward to seeing more later this week. I wouldn't say I'm excited but I am curious as to what R* will do next. Will they run with the interest or stay silent for more months? Who knows? Either way today is a good day.

True..but the thing is..developers/publishers say alot. Most of the time it's just some talk..but maybe it will be true this time. It would be a first for Rockstar...to release a game with so little info.

True...but that's why they said they don't wanna release a lot of info ths time lol. It's not usual, but they're doing it.

On the plus side if this is the case it'll prove to R* they don't need to spend a lot of cash on marketing there games and it'll be more of a surprise for us. Some folk may not like it this way but personally I like the surprise and don't feel I need to know a lot about the game as I'll buy it whatever the case. Call it blind faith if you like.

I would like to see someones argument that said that it was later than march, later than the end of this year in fact. They seem to pop up and bash people that think that the release could be earlier when someone has hashed out a way it was possible. Yet those who think the release will be later haven't put much thought into the marketing itself. So many people I've seen posted on here seem to think about when the game releases but fail to think about the marketing itself having competition with another company for the same space.

I myself believe that the lack of info R* has been giving us and the way it's been given to us is important to factor in. So far the only real cost to R* has been the time it spent on the 1:25 sec trailer and the 5 screen shots to date. The screen shot of which could have been taken straight from game play of the testers.

With the lack of real marketing so far could that mean that they have been planning to use a large mass market campaign instead of the Gorilla style campaign of a little bit here and a little bit there that other companies have adopted. Could we see a complete month where GTA played to the mass market to get to the widest audience or will they follow the rest of the companies. I would like your opinions on this because R* have never really been tradition when it comes to marketing.

My prediction for a Release would be late this OCT early NOV.

Exactly, Rockstar doesn't give a f*ck about traditional advertising, they don't need it, they could release GTA V tomorrow and break world records in sells.

With how often Game companies rely on Gorilla style adverts, if someone for example rockstar would put a full blown campaign in lets say a months time what would stop them for taking over the market. Other company ad money have already been spent on smaller things like ads that play to a small audience. Where Rockstar could hit up the market and rely on free marketing to push it forward after the initial shove.

IMO, i think there wont be any previews, like all the above said, R* wanted this game to be a surprise so they wont do much marketing, and guess what, it works perfectly. Look how hyped the internet yesterday when the screens were just released, and it had been very quiet before. This kind of marketing worked perfectly, it pisses people off, but in the end, the hype is really huge compared to other great video games.

If this is the start of marketing then is it gonna go on for another 5 to 7 months? That just seems like a long time to me. Plus, they have said that they don't want to give too much away so they'll keep quiet until it's ready to release. We've been waiting it's been almost 10 months since the announcement. I really hope it comes out in October/November or December.

Yeah lets just hope man hahaha. IMO we will have another character or synopsis trailer, showing cutscenes from missions and conversations, so we know what's the plot this time. Its perfect i think, you want to surprise people, but you also want people to know a bit about the game.
