I was about to post this as well, I've never heard this term before... |
were you guys born yesterday? | It's a purely American term. You'd get angry if we talked exclusively in Australian slang and assumed you were an idiot for not knowing what it meant.

Kinda random question, how does cable tv work in America? Basically here we have like 12-13 free channels, 4-5 are mostly news and other political stuff, then there are 3 channels that have all the popular stuff (NCIS, Bones, CSI, ect ect) and they have sub-channels that show repeats of the same shows 90% of the time.
Then for $100 a month you can get a lot of the American channels, which are all sh*t repeats of everything anyway so it's a waste of money. How does cable work in comparison?

| QUOTE (Mockage @ Wednesday, Jul 11 2012, 20:39) | I hope DISH network (cable I use) doesn't get in this. Although my parents are talking about switching to FiOS though.
Eh, switch to online TV or something. Although, the channels that have been taken down are trying to fight back and get in (lol facebook posts) though I don't think that'll happen. | Dish doesn't have any issues with Direct, but they don't carry AMC anymore. I was going to Direct, but now it's a no go, only for Comedy Central. TV is going to sh*t. Not in quality of programming, but because, once again, old fart capitalist don't want to risk their profit to try new business models. And every year each side, the providers and networks, want more, because the inevitability of their obsolescence due to alternatives such as the internet, Netflix, and Hulu, is starting to become more and more apparent. It's sad and somewhat pathetic when you think about it.
