- Liberty City would only be known as a neighbourhood in Miami.
- Los Santos would be known only as a province in Panama.
- Jack Thompson would probably still be in the job whining about other "murder simulators" (as Thompson would not have lost his lawyers license so soon after so many failed class action suits against Rockstar Games).
- Congress, Hilary Clinton and family rights groups would not of had a whale of a time with the "GTA SA Hot Coffee Scandal".
- And Rockstar Games would still possibly be DMA.

It makes you wonder that if the GTA series had never been created, what would all of these so called "GTA inspired criminals" have blamed their crime sprees on? I'm guessing they would have found someone/something else to blame like the government, the media, schools, the little voices in their heads, God, their upbringing, etc. etc.

If R* and GTA would have never exited, I would be obsessing over other games instead. I doubt the gaming industry would be that much different. Open-world games styled after GTA would just lag behind. Some other company would eventually make some random successful open-world crime shooter game and be blamed for all the ills of society. The formula for this kind of game was out there back in '01, people just haven't been able to put the ideas together successfully until R* came along.

GTA would forever be branded a Saints Row clone if they ever did decide to make one in the future.

But without GTA, there would perhaps have been no Saints Row either.

Chances are there would never have been "The Simpsons: Hit & Run" game either as the inspiration for that came from GTA.
