 Same Handling characteristics, different handling.

This is a question to whoever can answer it.

I have imported new cars and changed their respective handling characteristics for a while now and there is something that puzzles me to the point of ripping my hair out.

The thing is, I import a car and fix the handling (I like to drift) and once in a while I get a handling line I'm really happy with. Naturally I then want to duplicate this line and give it to another car.

I usually copy the handling.dat and vehicles.ide info that needs to be copied, but this doesn't work. I the usually have to muck around in a Handling Editor to get the same "feel" as the one I like, but this takes time, since you have to restart gta for every test and it never yields the same result.

So my question is this:

-Does the model it self have any properties that affects the handling.dat and the vehicles.ide characteristics, like some sort of center of mass or the wheels have some sort of "hidden" traction values?
-Does the length and or width of the actual model affect the handling properties in a way?
-Does the game see two different models even tho the handling.dat and the vehicles.ide is the same?
-Has it anything to do with the fact that one model replaces for example the Futo and the other model replaces for example the Blista?

Any kind of enlightenment on this subject would be much appreciated!

1st: each car has different center of mass there has been chosen inside Zmodeler. also position of the wheels affect how the car acts.
2nd: it does, because the longer the car is, the bigger space there's between front and rear tires. the same with width, just from right to left wheels.
3rd: yes it does.
4th: can u rewrite that question so it's more understandable?

4th question: no, it does not matter what you replace. The game does not know that a futo is a futo, it defines a 3d model of any kind by its handling and vehicle line, in special the vehicle line entries which define the fx, physics and sound.
Monster is right about the rest. The physics are simply computed by 3d measures (wheels, chassis node, suspension nodes, COL weight iirc etc), proportions and positions.

Thank you so much for those two quick answers. That really cleared it up for me.

I have two additional questions:

-Is it possible to import a car into zmodeler and find those values, the center of mass, length/width and tire nodes, without knowing them before importing, does zmodeler tell you once they are imported?

-Is it possible to import a car that resebles the car you want to duplicate, redo it's center of mass, length/width and tire values to match the car you want to copy?
