As a whole Canada has got more in common with Europe, for several reasons, English (Britain), Commonwealth Country (Britain), Quebec (France), the cold northern Tundra (Scandinavia), Moose bothering (Scandinavia, again), putting mayo on everything (France, Belgium and Holland), Rain in the west (Britain) and defense force that dress in funny red outfits (Mounties/Beefeaters).
Where as the US only really has stuff in common with Britain... which every Brit should tell you, although geographically is Europe, Socially it is as far apart from Europe as a hookers legs.

| QUOTE (Adept @ Wednesday, Jul 11 2012, 00:31) | | QUOTE (Xcommunicated @ Wednesday, Jul 11 2012, 05:18) | | The you have the Midwest bible belt full of non-progressive, conservative twats that try to hinder the rest of the country with their antiquated notions of morality and virtue. |
I like how you just put a whole region of people together and defined them as if it were a progressive way of viewing reality. You are so advanced in thinking. Like Gandhi you are. |
Oh sh*t, looks like Sarcastic Sally just got her snatch stuffed with sand. Having lived in the Midwestern US most of my life, I can attest to my statement holding some water. Admittedly, I made the mistake implying that the bible belt and the Midwest are synonymous, when they only just partially overlap. Nonetheless, both these areas traditionally hold the majority of the conservative population. Don't get me wrong, many people in the bible belt really do show that warm southern hospitality that we hear about. But that doesn't exactly dismiss the fact that many of them hold ultra conservative outlooks. Edit - As El Diablo pointed out, these regions overlap in MO, which is where I am. And yes MO is a shining example of ass backwards conservative politics. This is also one of the largest gray states, meaning it has one of the largest senior citizen populations. Nothing against the elderly, unless they're set in their ways and refuse to drop the 1950's charade (which is the case more often than not).

I say canada, with regard to the UK and france and most of western europe. as like canada western europe is generally full of political and religious tolerance, and full of quirky f*ckers who don't give a sh*t. Wheras in america, there is loads of religious and political intolerance and intolerance to sexual orientation and women are not even given a fair shake there too, compared to UK, France and canada anyway. However many americans i know are friendly, just ignorant and a bit bigoted. so for that reason I say that eastern europe is abit like america. parts are ok, many people are friendly but there are some intolerant bigots who ruin it for everyone else, and it by no means a small minority
