As there's no regular Rancher in VCS too, we can only assume that MAYBE it wasn't manufacted in 1984 yet.

I think because around two thirds of San Andreas was rural area the FBI Rancher was more useful to bring down CJ in the desert or the forest, but back in Vice City the rancher would be completely impractical, apart from on Washington beach. The FBI Washington was more suitable to Vice's flat city roads.

I think I agree with you A2 MFK. FBI Rancher is somewhat suitable to off road. smile.gif

Then explain why the FBI Rancher was used in original Vice City by the FBI, while FBI Washington is hiding in an alley near VRock, waiting for Tommy to ride it confused.gif

I said it is most suitable to off-road, the FBI Washington is a rare vehicle and is not used by NPCs.

I suppose they simply replaced the Washingtons with the tougher Ranchers between the games and the Washington ceased to be used, but the final car got hidden in Downtown just in case anyone, such as a psychopathic killer seeking for control of the city, would need it. wink.gif

Yeah, I'd have to agree with ZoomZoom, Vice City was before San Andreas so back then, one could only dream of an open rural environment to take the rancher for a spin biggrin.gif

After San Andreas had been and gone and we were back in vice city the rancher would have looked a little silly ... I suppose you could say its a bit like the motorbike ban in Liberty city, R* wanted to put the bikes in the sequel but had to come up with some excuse why they weren't in GTA III, only with not such a great cover up. If you put the Vice City games in order of setting rather than release then it seems quite nice to have the FBI Washington make a last minor appearance in Vice City.

Either that or I'm humiliating myself by looking to much into trivial information about a game that not as many people play anymore confused.gif

FBI rancher behaves disgustingly in cities. In small towns too,However,in empty areas they are very useful.

Agreed. FBI Rancher is most suitable for off road. The FBI Washington is more suitable to city roads and not suitable for off road performance. That is it. Accept it. rah.gif

It probably wasn't included, to "mix things up a bit" since they had it in VC and not the Washingtons-that only had a regular spawn point in an alley down the street from the V-Rock 96.1 building...So, they used the FBI Washingtons in VCS instead except they did not give the FBI Rancher a spawn point this time like they did the FBI Washington in VC..

Just like how the VCPD Cheetah always spawned behind the Little Havana Police station in VC, yet the ONLY way to obtain it in VCS is with a 3 to 4 star wanted level...

They also left out the Rancher-as the only Rancher they had were the Gang Ranchers that the Sharks gang had...

The Police heli was moved to the top of the Washington Beach PD this time whereas it was on the Downtown PD in VC...

At least they got the name right in the III era games(FBI-Federal Bureau of Investigations ) whereas the messed up in IV and EFLC, as in those games, it says FIB-which is a mistake, as it is the FBI, as seen here.. and not FIB-FIB does not exist...So, that was a mistake from IV that they never caught in the EFLC games... tounge2.gif lol.gif

The fact about FIB may be not overlook on R* part, but simple change of name to create more believable, but still fictional world. In 3D era every law enforcement agency was having it's own real name. We got FIB, DEA and so on. In HD era R* decided to change the abbreviation (FIB isn't very far from FBI) and names of the agencies. Because of that we got NOoSE instead of Homeland Security and Bureau of Narcotics instead of DEA.
