If there are any hardcore GTA fans like myself who check for GTA news everyday, then you are probably somewhat frustrated w/all of the MP3 news and no GTA news. This lack of news has me thinking, I'm sure most of you sort of noticed, but was GTA 5 just to reel us into the Rockstar website so they could just try to sell us Max Payne 3?

-Let me just say I have NOTHING against MP3 it looks like a fantastic game, but I sort of feel R* is just using GTA 5 to shove MP3 down our throats, what do you all think?

I understand what you're saying, only because this has been discussed before around the time they started releasing DLC for Max Payne 3.

I'm not sure where to look, but it's definitely there - deep analysis into why they announced GTA and then talked about Max Payne - hopefully someone would be kind enough to post a link I would but I have no idea where it is.

i think the secret about GTAV is that your going to play max payne as the main character in GTAV which takes place after the events of MP3 where max moves to Los Santos this is why rockstar are promoting the hell out of MP3 so people can know what had happened before to him in MP£ i meant 3.

lol It's cool to promote themselves and all but, I don't think the majority of people are interested in max payne over GTA 5.

I agree, although I believe they pushed the trailer to promote the handheld version of GTA 3 that was released a little while after.

They showed 1 trailer 8 months back, they've hardly been 'using' GTA V, they haven't been talking about it at all.

One is they are still trying to push MP3 due to less than stellar sales. And im not vompletely sure another bait a switch would do mich after the game is out. And another is rockstar wants to be 100% certain with release date and all so they dont have a fiasco erupt. After a long time with no info, then a delay. I couldnt even imagine the reaction.

Dont be stupid. It was clearly to get the max payne name out there. With all the traffic to their sitte it was sure to grab attention from viewers. And it put it on their radar or to buy list.

I'm kinda frustrated too they only promote that game Max Payne 3.
It has been going for a half year now and now they started releasing DLC's.
As they have announced two games at the same time, I'm not interested in that sh*t Max Payne 3.
All I want is just freaking play the damn GTAV game.
If R* never has announced GTAV, maybe I had interests to get Max Payne 3 and play it.
But no, R* is just now a big ignorant dirty animals.

As long as people think that a company like Rockstar MUST only create one game, the conspiracy theories will never end. A more likely scenario is that they, AS USUAL, announced a game WAY TOO EARLY. They have repeated this strategy every time they develop a major title.
L.A. Noire was announced, including a trailer, and how long did THAT take to come out?
Max Payne 3 was announced, and 8 years later, it is finally released.
I don't understand why they don't just WAIT before announcing anything. They don't gain anything that they couldn't gain later. Wait until about 6 months away from a release date, make the announcement, and release small bits of info until release. GTAV doesn't need such a long buildup. Anyway, there is no conspiracy, they simply have other games to work on, and for reasons known only to them, continue to paint themselves into a corner by needlessly telling the public about games that are NOWHERE near a release date.

Why do you think we have gotten no info? I think because rockstar finally figured out that they
are f*cking up. Maybe theyll wait till some stuff is solid now.

It worked on me. I never gave the slightest sh*t about Max Payne all these years, but for some reason I bought Max Payne 3. Didn't enjoy it all that much, either.
