I'm just curious to know. What is your favourite IV era GTA game? Is it GTA IV TLaD, GTA IV TBoGT or the GTA IV or GTA CTW

The vanilla IV.It was long, fresh, and new to everybody. The only thing I hate about it is the variety of missions. Most of them are just:"BOOM SHOOT TILL HE'S DEAD THEN ESCAPE THE POLICE".

Yeah they were fun,but compared to all the other GTA games,IV's mission variety sucked.

I wouldn't say IV's missions were easy. They were easier compared to SA's and VC's, but they had their difficult moments. I remember Elizabeta has a hard mission, Packie's missions are difficult, Pegorino's too and so on.

They're all great in their own way, but I probably play regular IV the most and would say it's my favourite.

What kind of topic is that? There were only two games in this era so far. IV and CTW. Do you really need to ask, which one of them is better?

4 games, if you count the GTA IV DLC.

Two games, because you can't (at least you shouldn't) count add-on (briliant and bigger than many full games) as a full game.

I actually thought Chinatown Wars was better than IV first but it's hard to judge because they are very different from each other. But I certainly liked the atmosphere in Chinatown Wars and the isometric graphics worked very well. GTA IV had some 'disappointing' features and I'm really not a New York-fan the city which Liberty City is based on. Chinatown Wars was also set in Liberty City but I liked the atmosphere better and there were also many entertaining missions and features in the game.

Anyway, two great games, that's for sure.

Chinatown Wars is better in every way. GTA IV has great graphics and great physics though, i'll give it that.

of the IV-era:

in terms of story:

TLAD >>>>>>>>>>>>>> TBOGT = IV

in terms of content:

TBOGT >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> IV > TLAD (very few new vehicles, not very good side missions and they took the damn clubhouse!)

in terms of characters:

TLAD >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> TBOGT = IV

overall:

TLAD = TBOGT >>>> IV

I voted Ballad of Gay Tony. Also, should the thread's name be called; Best IV-era Game?

I can't believe CTW got more votes than TLaD. I really loved. So we care more about the storyline than graphics don't we? smile.gif

TLAD for me due to its sheer superiority to the original game in terms of variety, even though the storyline was short.

Maybe my view will change further when I manage to play through TBOGT as well, haven't yet had the time.

I too feel sad to say GTA IV TLaD at the bottom. confused.gif It had an awesome gameplay. But the storyline wasn't satisfying. That is my opinion.

The gameplay is kinda the same as IV and Tbogt. The only difference is the side missions, missions, weapons some vehicles etc.Good to see most people don't go for graphics.
