I have been playing this game for three weeks now and I can't stop. This is a free, in-browser (or on Steam), arcade style multiplayer bullet hell RPG that anyone can play. To start with you have three class choices Wizard, Priest, Archer. Pretty soon you unlock many more and I think there are 16 total. This game is a blast.
The premise is simple: kill things, defeat bosses, collect better gear, BE THE MAN. You control your character with WSAD and you aim with the mouse, and there is a button for spells and for using items. The gameplay is extremely simple to pick up, difficult to master, and gets increasingly complex the deeper into the game you go. At first it seems like there isn't much to it, but the longer you play the more you realize that it really does sort of go on forever. XP is shared amongst everyone on screen together, and everyone gets the full amount- thus there is no penalty for playing with 20 people as opposed to 5. More people just means more XP for you because it's all about fighting as a group with the bigger bosses.
The levels are capped at 20. Once you reach that, your goal is acquiring Fame and better gear, and climbing the ranks and defeating better monsters. Getting to 20 can take a couple hours, or it can take a week, depending on how good you are. However, once your character dies, he is DEAD. You have to start a new one from Level 1 and do it all over again. Whatever gear he has is gone permanently. This game is f*cking hard, but is also extremely rewarding when you get in the zone.
There is a free Vault everyone gets in the home area called The Nexus, and you can store 12 or so items for later use. The Nexus can be gone to by pressing Insert and running home to save yourself from dying in a heated battle, or to stash some sweet new gear you got. You can also trade with players which is often easy to do as people want their mates to be good also. A poor battle mate is useless to you at later levels.
Anyhow, this game is fantastic. It has a charming old school pixelated sprite appearance to it, and the musical soundtrack is frantic and fun. I highly recommend you guys give it a chance. I am on there frequently and my username is PantsThief. If you find me, click my name in the bottom right and hit Lock and you'll always see me if we're on the same world together. Send me a message and we can slay sh*t together. Be sure to make an account so your progress gets auto-saved!
I've played this before, sure is fun. Until you get killed and lose all your levels and gear, kinda why I stopped but I did play with a party of friends 'twas fun.

You guys who got discouraged because you die a lot don't know what it was like playing video games in the 80s and early 90s when every game was balls hard. Where is your sense of adventure?
@ AceRay - I'm down to play. I just hit level 20 with my Archer last night and then he promptly died. I'll try and find you, or I'll PM you when I'm getting on and we can rock out.
I'm surprised there aren't more people interested in playing. This game rocks. So what if it's hard that's the point. It makes you think a little harder before you run head first into a swarm of guys.

What world do you usually play on forty, I personally prefer Titan as it has the most XP trains.
@forty: Hey, i know how hard classic games is. It just that i'm always get bored if i have to re-do all the things after i'm dead. I'm just short tempered, and rage quit this game.
Yeah, maybe i'll try this back after completing my other games.

Titan? Hmm...on the Kabam servers they don't have one called Titan. Are you playing from ROTMG.com, or from Steam perhaps? Maybe they have different server names.
I did play a bit on the SNES however I was very young and I know the "restart from the very start" deal. I just feel this game doesn't have very much meat to it, I hardly play flash games on the net anymore anyway. I did like Stick Arena from Xgen Studios, that ranked in a lot of hours.
