So do you want to be British, interesting little subject that was brought up on TV tonight on Question Time here in old Blighty, with stupid questions.

So about the test, it's 24 questions long, you have a time limit of 45 minutes, which is overkill as I did it in about 5 minutes, so you've got plenty of time. and you need to get 75%+ to pass and become a Winging Limey Pom.

Take the Test

So you're probably think what's an American doing posting this, well the flag is lie when referring to my place of birth and residence, I'm a bad teeth, weather moaning, Bowler hat wearing Brit with the wrong bloody passport.

Also here is my score, take the test and post yours (and when I say post do more that just type two numbers and the percent sign), also post your current nationality.

68% - FAIL

So Keep Calm and Carry On.

That test is hard as f*ck unless your good with your facts and History.

Thank god I already have British citizenship, I sort of feel sorry for any immigrants who want British citizenship. Will try test later.

Well, I'm going to have to leave the country now. If anyone wants me I'll be in Sealand, maybe on Shivering Sands Army Fort.

46% despite living here my entire life. Majority of the questions are useful but most definitely not what I'd consider vital for citizenship, but rather what an excellent bureaucrat would.

I am a UK citizen, born and raised in UK, 5th generation at least - and I got 33% - proof I think that the system of citizenship testing is flawed. Whether you stay in a country or not should not come down to historical knowledge or whether or not you know the beauracratic sh*t about this country inside out, if someone got deported cos they don't know what a quango was i would be very unhappy with my country (for those facing a real citizenship test)

46%

I remember taking the same test last year and getting over 60%. Must've guessed better last time, although this time I actually knew what a quango was.
Not bothered though, a lot of useless information in my opinion. I'm british where it counts.

I knew a few but a lot were guesses. I got 42%, although that's pretty irrelevant because I don't like drinking tea therefore I'm not really British anyways. I've lived in the UK since I was 7.

I'm British, moved to America when I was 8 and now live in New Zealand and I did better than a fair few born and raised Brits? WTF is wrong with the British Educational System?

The test is ridiculous. Since when does knowing if 3.4% or 2.7% of the population identify as Muslim , or if there are 13 or 15 million under 18s, or which exact year women won the right to divorce their husband etc. determine how "British" someone is? A lot of it is essentially British trivia rather than questions that require a working knowledge of how the country operates and what typical values/value systems are.
