Today i bought GTA III online from GameStop for 10 bucks to play it requres downloading the GameStop app which installs GTA in a folder called 2K Games\Grand Theft Auto 3 so here is the problem.

I have been using Joy2Key to play VC and SA via Xbox 360 controller and i have been using MegaTrainer XL for the cheats however once insalling this GTA from GameStop Joy2Key will no longer work nor will the MegaTrainer XL button config didnt chance from what Joy2Key was set at the functions of MegaTrainer XL do not respond.

Cheats work manually (typing them in) but i dont ge why the GameStop Digital version would prevent me from using Joy2Key or a Trainer.

according to the game version 1.10 is installed which MegaTrainer has both 1.0 and 1.1 versions however i still cannot install the Back To The Future mod as it states i do not have version 1.1 installed.

Anyone else have the GameStop version of GTA III and can help me out with my issues?

From what you tell it seems like the GameStop version is stripped clean of any ability to use a third-party programme or device such as Joy2Key or trainers. Maybe the GameStop installing application is what barred the game from third-party programs in the beginning.

A strange situation indeed. I encountered this for the first time...

Try downloading a Steam version of GTA III. It may cost another $ 10, but at least it won't be rigged like that.

Leo, do you have a GTAIII "data" folder and "models" folder and "audio" folder and "anim" folder etc.? If you do then you can copy all the folders and the Mss32.dll file to a new location. ( for example "Program Files/Rockstar Games/GTAIII" ) Then use a 1.0 or 1.1 retail no-cd hacked exe from gamecopyworld. icon14.gif
