I have uninstalled games for windows live I think.... anyways GTA IV EFLC when I try to start it up, it has the loading disc icon then nothing happens. The first time I did it I quickly saw a flash of a pop up saying that it had stopped working.

Pls help, I love GTA and really wanna jump on and start playing.

I have the complete edition discs.

I click Launch GTA eps from lib etc. etc... it says its loading, the mouse turns into a spinning disc (its loading the game) then nothing happens and all goes back to normal. but the first time it said ith ad stopped working idk if that means anything

Have you uninstalled some more stuff when you removed GFWL? I guess the chilly weather is making you do silly things

Anyhow, look on the game installation disk for vc_setup.exe, VC++ libraries installer should be present in the extras or redistributables folder. Make sure to install it or at least do a repair installation.
Also, try using this http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=452840 to start the game.

Perhaps its a problem with social club, because I must click that right before I launch and nothing happens.

I Cannot find anything on my computer even that says vcc.

Also, have you updated your game with the latest patches: (You have Complete Edition, right?)
Patch 1.0.7.0 for GTA 4
Patch 1.1.2.0 for EFLC

If you upgrade your game with the latest patch, Social Club Feature will be removed and you will be able to play the game directly from LaunchGTA.exe. (Don't know if it's the same in EFLC)

Not really, as I have the Steam version of both IV and EFLC, so they are up-to-date, and Social Club still comes up when I go to launch the game....This is with Xliveless too...

He was replying to my Social Club question. I don't have EFLC, thus, I was asking if Social Club will be removed as well in EFLC. You both made my day. BTW, I don't think Social Club will make any difference. Xliveless will do.

Ok so I went to delete those settings but all that I could delete was serial.dat or something that was in that folder. I downloaded the patch thing and clicked install or some application that patched it. I clicked on launcheflc.exe and clicked play offline, it showed the disc loading thing but nothing happens. It just... crashes on startup

Is this still the Steam version of the game? If yes, the Steam client will update the game automatically. You can go to EFLC in the steam games library, right click the entry, choose properties, go to local files tab and then click verify integrity of installed files.
Have you reinstalled GFWL client as I asked you to do above?

I see you haven't posted your PC specs yet, go ahead and do that now.
