Won't run on Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit edition when it used to run on Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit edition! It launches, runs the 2 intro movie files, but when it gets to the actual game, Windows tells me it's stopped working and promises to check for a solution. Yeah, like THAT'S going to happen! This is a legal [licensed] copy of the game installed from a 2.0 CD game I bought back in 2006, and I've never had any problems until now. This is a home-built gaming computer with a 6-core 64-bit AMD processor with an MSI Twin Frozr III [1 GB on-Board RAM] graphics card. This is BULL-PUCKEY (Christ, I wish I could curse here like a normal person!)!!! I can't even find a patch for this version of the game. I'm, like, totally stuck, dude!

The Version 2 (Second Edition) has no patchs because all the bugs were fixed and included in the V2 Game.
Windows always 'tries' to find fixes and usually does nothing more than dump you in the "home" web site.
Presuming your Game worked as you say on this very same computer and you only upgraded the OS.
First Step is to Delete the GTA_SA.set fille. This file contains config data which no longer applies. It will be recreated at the end of your next game session.
Other:
You are Playing with the Original DVD in the DVD drive?
You can try running the game in W98(xp) mode.
Is the Game played with Admin Privileges?
You haven't modded the game?

I am happy to report that I found a solution, one that "they" teach you in school to always attempt but almost never works: Uninstall and do a clean re-install. Pisses me off madly, because the only parameter that changed was the installation directory (shouldn't make a LICK of difference!); I allowed the default installation directory specification to stand, and NOW everything's Hunky-Frikkin'-Dory. Well, guess what? I'm moving the installation files to the RIGHT directory, and it's going to friikin' work the way it's supposed to where I say! This is MY g******d computer, and s**t's gonna work the way I say, Microsoft or NO g******d Microsoft! A******s! Stupid f***s!
