File restoration help, Major problem

Hi guys,

First post here, been browsing these forums for a while and downloading some great stuff. My little stoner mate is astonished when i say "hey dude check it out, im lil wayne in a M3 GTR on San Andreas." he is memorized.

The problem i seem to be getting now should be quite simple to solve: I've had GTA running Perfectly for the past couple of months, currently have these mods installed:

The problem i now have is that when i run the game, i get to the loading screen after the game menu, and it freezes and displays "gta_sa.exe has stopped working" it also does the same when attempting to start a new game.

Evreything was fine until i tried installing this mod (The grove street upgrade):

I backed up all of my .ipl & .ide files before i attempted the install.

After i'd installed this mod, I ran GTA SA and this is when i ran into problems. I was greeted with GTA_SA.EXE has stopped working, after i had tried to load my game. I thought no biggy ive backed it up, ill just restore the original .ide & .ipl files, which i did .. but still the problem persists!

I don't want to do a fresh install because its took me weeks assembling all the best mods!

my laptop stats
8gb RAM
intel pentium b960 2.2ghz
not sure what graphics card but its adequate to run gta sa on highest detail.
Been using Spark to edit gta3.img

Ive searched and searched but cantfind a resolution. Would be massively appreciative if someone could solve my problem.
