Hello people of GTAF. After many years of waiting and decisions I finally on my final step of having my new system build. I have everything except for monitor, keyboard and speakers. I intend to play video games on it.

Monitor (£150 / $235) - 23'6" / 24" LED. I was about to get Asus, as they have greats specifications and cheap, but heard a lot of horror stories of ghosting and other crap. So wanted to get Samsung, but they aren't cheap. So any good monitor with over average specifications but for a reasonable price.

Keyboard (£20 / $31) - Want something simple and slim. Really like Roccat Arvo but again too expensive. So wanted maybe Emprex 6310U or Genius SLIMSTAR I220. These two are cheap and slim. They also a cheaper versions of Apple keyboards and I'm not sure how easy will it be to play FPSs or GTAs on it.

Speakers (£??? / $???) - Haven't even looked for those but saw Stinky12 suggested Creative Inspire T3130 in another thread and they looks perfect. Reasonable price and looks like good quality.

Hope I was helpful and thanks for all suggestions and advice!

Anything from the Viewsonic range is good. I've got this 22" one and it's got a nice, clean, clear and crisp display, high response rate (then again monitors these days pretty much do as standard now). Fair enough the inbuilt speakers aren't the loudest, but they are audible enough, but if you are getting external speakers then you've got no problems there.

As for keyboard, it's a hard one to recommend as it's a very personal taste thing, the only thing I would say is try and go for a keyboard that doesn't have clicky-clacky keys something with a bit of smoothness to them. Also maybe personal but don't got for wireless, can't stand them battery wasters that they are, same for mice, plus I find that wired keyboards have a better response rate which is vital for gaming. But if you are interested in a keyboard for FPS gaming then as long as you get one where you can remove the left windows key as that f*cker always gets in the way. But when it comes to GTA, I'm sorry but joypads are the way as the game was designed with the joypad in mind.

Can't comment on the Speakers as I exclusively use headphones, but I can comment on why are not in the Z cave wink.gif

Currenlty using this Samsung
For monitor
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-S24B350BS-...Y/ref=de_a_smtd
For something similar to that other Samsung
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-T24A350-Wi...41205149&sr=1-4

I use a Logitech keyboard for like $10 bucks
For speakers, I got them 2.1 Cambridge Sound Works, but I also use headphones most of the time.
Other speakers manufactures to look at
Klipsch
Altec Lansing
Harmon Kardon
Logitech

For a monitor, this is your best bet. £131.16, 24", 1920x1080 with 2ms response time and a native contrast ratio of 1000:1.

As for a keyboard, if you really want something good, get a mechanical keyboard like this for £49.99. A cheap mechanical keyboard like this is way way better than a super expensive 'gaming' keyboard that has rubber dome keys. That and Cherry keyboards are f*cking reliable and will last you forever pretty much, so I'd say its worth it.

Get this for speakers. 5.1 and is by FAR the best for around the same price range as the Creative.
