Remember how in past GTAs you always got much more money than you needed / could spend, and how often the protagonist complained about being poor when you actually had a good amount of cash?

In GTA IV, niko complained about having no money when I already had like $20k, and at the end I had like $700k that I didn't even want because I had nothing to buy with them. I remember I looked at the stats and had only spent like $55k on guns & ammo in the whole storyline. Why do we get so much money in GTAs?

As we know, GTA V focuses on the pursuit of the almighty dollar, could we really have to struggle to get the cash and be always in low numbers, even not having enough for guns at times? Also, if the objective of the game is to get money, it means that you need the money for something. I doubt (and it'd suck) we be forced to buy food, clothes, and pay for things like mortgage, electricity, taxes, etc, but then, if you didn't have to pay for all this, why would you have to struggle to get money?

Maybe... "thought I'd be a dad like all the other dads"? Mantaining your children is the only thing that makes sense to me, but, TBH, it would be weird for a GTA, that's usually about murdering people

If money was harder to come by, it'd definitely give stuff we currently take for granted such as weapons, armour and Pay n' Sprays etc. more value.

I'm hoping the focus on money in V will mean that they've put a lot more effort into how it works in-game, not just as a story theme. It was the weakest aspect of IV for me.

I used to hate when Niko complained about money, but then when I had money I had nothing to buy. I want to buy my own houses, cars, phones, clothes,etc.

Yeah I know, I was pissed at what you could buy. Crappy outfits from shops or guns. There was a website where you could buy cars that had numbers, which were useless. I was pissed when I couldn't order another car after that mission where you have to kidnap Gracie

Although I do want it only for money to become harder to get, not my health bar being a lot more shorter.

I hope we will be able to purchase stuff Online and even purchase Ferrari's on those dealerships you see around in GTA's, even though you can steal one off the street or take one from inside I want to purchase one so that it feels much more valuable, but it R* also has to fix the bug where when you find a rare car in the middle of nowhere you find that car roaming the street everywhere after you've found it, god I hated that.

That was my biggest beef with IV. After SA I was expecting that aspect of the game i.e what to spend money on, to be greatly improved on in IV....I was expecting to be able to customize my character as much as I was able to in SA, to buy houses, businesses etc. It just seemed like a step back when you were able to spend your money on so many things in SA and then in IV it was basically useless aside from guns, ammo and some clothes.

SA is still my favourite GTA due to all those extras that add so much replay value and interesting aspects to the game. I hope that V takes what SA had in it, and improves on it.

I want to buy sh*t with all the money I get, and I want to be able to do as much with my character as I did in SA.

But seriously. I'd love it, if it was hard to get money and you had to make different decisions, for more or less money but against your morale decisions.

...i'd rather like them doing more things to spend our money on, then making overall goal of getting money to spend on much lesser things harder...just add more stuff to spend money on...oh there's additional solution - they could make something so'd look for our wallet on regular life routine basis...like you know having to pay bills so we wouldn't get bankrupt and so on...that would add more value to money system and will make it seem less repeatable...

Mmm, aye. They also have to fix the lack of any car spawning for people in multiplayer too. It's definitely a memory issue which I'm sure they're aware of.

Yeah, I tried all the numbers but there was no answer, then I found the websites actual business and all you could do was steal a car.

It would be cool if special cars that didnt spawn on the street could only be available by purchasing them through getting someones
number on the the internet or going to a dealership.

Yeah, that was like a huge middle finger to whoever did that. As for me, I want theem to bring back Ammu-nation, so that they can sell guns at normal prices, because those guns in GTA IV could not have been at normal prices, there is no way I can buy an Aluminum Baseball Bat for $5. I know for a fact that MP-10s have to cost more than $2500 as well. They also have to add the online stores too.

Oh no, that just equaled a bullet to the tollbooth guy's face, or, if I was on a Motorcycle, I just went in between the booths. That gets you through with no consequence.

Also guys, it would be freakin cool if money was divided between a bank account and your wallet (like in the game Scarface), and when you buy p.e. clothes, you can choose if you give them the credit card to pay it from the account, or give them the bills directly from your wallet.

I did that, too.

Most of the time, I ended up with a wanted level. But no biggie.
