First off, I did NOT pirate GTA SA.

Second, I used the search, and I could only find irrelevant things.


I recently bought Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, through a digital download.
And whenever I clicked on the EXE, I have to enter a serial code that I don't even have!

The reason I don't have it, is because I checked out as a guest, and I didn't feel like making an Social Club account at the time.

So what am I, stuck? Unable to play a game because I was a guest?

Please respond.

Regretably your stuck. You will have to contact the Retail Dealer.
We are only recently getting complaints about the need for a 'Key' to play the download games.
Most of us have the Disc Versions wherein the Disc is the key.
We cannot tell you what the key is to prevent Piracy (which is its intent).
Those games that do have 'key's have the key printed on the back of the Game's Manual.

Why even have a digital download option then?

I purchased as guest; I didn't feel like making an account for Rockstar Social Club, is that such a crime?

Not at all. It just means you'll have to contact the Vendor to get the code. We can't give it to you.
Personaly I don't like the idea of downloads of any program.
I prefer to have the hard disc in hand.

After a search of the web. The only reference to a key code I could find was on a Pirate/Warez/Torrent site.
There are No Free game sites during my GOOGLE/BING search that weren't warez.

Bite the bullet and Buy the Disc.

And I don't buy disks unless it's console gaming. (Unless I absolutely have to without pirating)

Most vendor (and other) web sites have a "Contact us" button to click.

Edit: I was looking about for another game in a Amazon.com comments/review section.
It appears that you may have to join the Social Club to actually be able to play the game from the Download Source. Registration may be the key to keep the game out of pirate hands.

Use Contact Us on the Rockstar Warehouse page. They are amazingly fast and even reply to you at 2am Dealt with them last week.

First off., there is NO serial code for SA-IV and the EFLC games are the ONLY GTA games which have this feature...I have confirmed that, as I have BOTH the Retail(DVD)-V2 AND the Steam version(legal download V3) and neither one has ever prompted a code being required...So. with that being said, Where did you obtain the game from?

It was and it's solved. You have to be registered, that is the 'key' needed.
