 Feeling connected to Los Santos...

 ...with lack of river boundaries.

I saw a mock-up of a map of the new Los Santos, and I gotta say I really dig the idea of the city not being divided up into 3-4 islands with river boundaries.

It feels like I'm going to have my parts of the city, the parts I like to do certain things in, my safehouse's territory, and then be able to go on country outings and also be comfortable being out in the wilderness for awhile. Just seems like I would greatly appreciate not having the city divided and accessible only through bridges and strategically-placed ramps. I like it.

Yes, an area that feels like home.
I've not had that since SA. It was Grove Street, Even though I had a mansion and airfield and casino's to hang around, I always ended up back at ma's playing the console with those circling alien things, (I was beast on that game) and then outside to ride a BMX, wheelying in circles. Then i'd go to SF and customise a car and cause some chaos.

Uhh.. wait..

So you're telling me you saw a REAL mock up map for the new GTA:V? or are you talking about some map that someone drew up on MSpaint?

A mock-up is never real...

Do you even know what a mock-up is?

A mock-up is a scaled model of whatever the person wants modeled. In this context we're talking about, its a map..

Ignoring GTA:V for a moment.. So you're saying any 'mock-up' of a building/vehicle/city etc is fake? or are you implying that any map ever made that was a 'mock-up' for the city Los Santos is fake?

Relax man! There are no maps of Los Santos and I wouldn't claim to have seen one, so of course I'm talking about a fake map. Maybe I used the wrong term, I thought mock-up was a good word to describe the fake maps I've seen, because a "fake map" implies its not real, whereas "mock-up" implies the map is based on real evidence (trailer #1).

I'm just saying that if you would give me Liberty City without it being split into 4 parts by 8 bridges, I would like it a lot. I think having Los Santos as the main city, and not having it accessible through a handful of a bridges, would be absolutely awesome for the sake of immersion and growing familiar with the city.

I know mock-ups can represent the real thing, but it's still a fake version of a real thing.
The map hasn'e been released yet so it has to be a fake.

its alright as long as we don't get the whole city unlocked from the start!...i liked how we had to wait until we progress in the story to be able to access other parts of the city, kind of increased my interest in progressing! and i'd hate to have fully accesable city form the start...

I would have liked that too. it would have made the map feel bigger. but it would be kinda weird seeing as how its really like that in real life. still would be cool smile.gif i really hope V is just one big land mass.

Just thinking about, in the last day, that the shift to a more realistic map would mean that you'd see some real life landmarks I'm sure, scattered around the playing field, shall we say, but it will not be a replica of the actual CALI or MEXICO that we've played in before, or the same Los Santos, I'm more convinced that this land mass and features will allow a new gaming experience away from SA of old. I imagine something like the GREAT LAKES in the SWest map region, moving the USA as we know it into a more fictional land mass
