Think about it, people complain that Los Santos will be too small but imagine it ws the size of San Andreas? Remember, game miles and real life miles are different, where it will take you half an hour to go from on side of New York to another, it will only take a minute or two in GTA IV. So R* saying that GTA V will be the biggest game yet, then don't you think that Los Santos would be scaled? It isn't hard for R* to take an entire city, and scale it 2x more than its original size.

Judging by the trailer, the city seems small compared to the country side; but then whats the point of even having a city if there hardly any area and space to explore? Would we be spending more time in the country side or the city? Most of us will probably explore the city because thats where all the action will be, but if Los Santos itself is extremely small, then what is there to explore in the city. Los Santos can be scaled to the size of San Andreas, and it will feel big, and getting to one place from another will take more time, which means more area for planes. And who says that the country side doesn't have to be big? When we scale Los Santos, just like that, the surrounding hills and beaches will be scaled with it to make it look realistic and feel the same size.

What are your thoughts?

I don't think we saw even half of the Los Santos area in the trailer. That final shot of the city we see in the last scene shows the northern most third, at the least - and the northern half of the city at most.

I know, but it still doesn't look as big as it should be. To me, it looks more like the size of Liberty City, which is bad imo.
I want the city large, so I have more area in the city, aswell in the country side.

IMO, GTA V will be more aimed at the countryside, suburbs, and rural areas as a breath of fresh air compared to IV's dense city. This will mean that the actual city of Los Santos will make up for it's size with an extremely detailed city.

To anyone having doubts, even though we haven't seen the whole city(map for that matter) there's 2 shots that
show just how massive this game could potentially be.

This shot is facing east it seems(mountains in back), ill tell you in a sec:

http://media.gtanet.com/gallery/gta-5-trai...reenshot-17.jpg

And this shot looks to be facing west (Sun, water we know is that way):

http://media.gtanet.com/gallery/gta-5-trai...reenshot-34.jpg

You can tell all this because of the position of the building under construction,
and where the "Ned Luke" guy is standing. Thats just looking East and West. Who knows
how large it could go down south. LA in real life has a lot of horizontal land mass, lots of suberbs.

This shot is facing the same way as in the Ned luke shot it looks like(See building under construction):

http://media.gtanet.com/gallery/gta-5-trai...creenshot-3.jpg

Point in Point, there's a lot we haven't seen. But what's been shown looks promising.

I sure as hell hope LS is the size of SA, but I won't let my hopes turn into expectations.

All I know is that the map in its entirety will be noticably bigger than SA.

Yeah, I agree with this.

Judging by the different angles of the city that we've seen in the trailer, Los Santos itself doesn't seem to be much bigger than IV's Liberty City. It seems like the area outside of Los Santos is also going to get the attention/detail it deserves.

I don't see the need for the city itself to be bigger than GTA IV's. The countryside will likely more than double the size of the map plus have some smaller towns in. The city also wont be islands this time by the looks of things. It'll probably feel bigger because of that.

Los santos is much more open and sunny too so it will make the map better, cant wait to cause havoc in the little towns in multiplayer tounge.gif

Los Santos to me seems bigger than IV's City, but again it could be also because of what you said about the MAIN city has no
interconnecting islands it looks like. Even with that "illusion" (I guess you could say?) It still is going to be massive. Can't imagine what
is going to go on in the outskirts of the city.

The city part in the trailer doesn't look very big at all. The rest of the city could be south, but we won't know 'til we get more info. I think that what we see is just the tip---the outer part of the main city. I don't think R* would make it that small. I hope the map is twice the size of Just Cause. I wanna get lost for months on end in this game.
