First of all, I am running Windows 7, 64bit.

I know this game will work on my PC system requirement wise because I have no problem playing other wide open games.

What is happening is when I get up to inserting disc 2 the install bar freezes for about 2 minutes then pops up with the following error.

"feature transfer error data3.cab"

I am going to attempt the install soloutions I found on here such as installing it in compatibility mode, im about to try that right now and i'll load up a screenshot of the error if it shows again.

If anyone knows what im talking about then that would be great, ive tried googling this but all it says is people have scratched discs which does not relate to my problem as I have only brought this game brand new today.

I havnt made any attempt to install Episodes from Liberty city yet because I want to play 4 first.

Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Ugh, looks like ive been sold a dodgy disc, hopefully when I get it exchanged it will work properly.

If you can't get it replaced, the usual method is to copy contents from both disks into a single folder on the hard disk and then install from there.

Yeah I tried that too but it just kept freezing my computer for about 5 minutes and then popping up with a cannot copy error, ive got a new Disc 2 now so hopefully it will work, attempting installation again.

If you can't even copy manually, the disk is definitively bad.

You might be able to order a replacement disk although, I'm not sure since I have never done this. Best bet is to buy another copy of GTA IV (Like I did when I thought I lost the original one I had).
