Spare Engine Fun?

Blind leading the deaf, leading the socially inept. Group: Members Joined: Nov 9, 2007	So my good friends mom recently got into a large side/fender collision. Sadly, her Monte Carlo will never be driven again and she's scraping it for parts to a local guy. However, my friend wants the engine (transmission, ecu, etc.) for himself. Luckily, we have a bunch of rednecks who can handle basic engineering at school, and want to do some crazy projects for their senior year. I have 4 guys on board, including the teacher, and some of them came over to check it out. The motor still runs quite well (minus a hole in the air filter box that could be an issue) and they approved it for usage. We are feeling something along the lines of a Snowmobile or some sort of a Go-Kart matted to this monster 3.1L V6. Anyone else know some ideas?

Something like that, most likely it would be the off road kind. Although a road go-er would be bad ass now that I think about it. We would just have no place to run it around here

I'm giving the guy who owns it a call to see if he'll just sell the body and frame and keep the motor for around $300.

Due to school restrictions on usage of class materials out side of school, we can't physically do anything with our teacher in the school garage. So we have to wait till September to start up on it.
