That was pretty random. icon14.gif

I personally wouldn't bother with downloading either game. I own them on all platforms and I enjoy the Xbox versions too much. I highly doubt RockStar would update the graphics a single bit. If I want to downgrade on the graphics I have the PC copy and the PS2 copy I can use tons of Gameshark codesI have for it.

I am surprised to see the people speak of this as news. Actually, this "news" is 5 months old.

It will be good if they use the original PS2 sound effects, audio files, textures and visual effects, and won't go on ruining the game by 'upgrading' it for PS3.

Rockstar has a bad habit of ruining their GTA games when porting them from PS2 to other platforms.

Especially GTA III. They made it a bit worse for PC, then made it far worse for Xbox, and again, FAR WORSE for iOS... Too sad...

Why can't they take their peace by leaving everything as it is? Is it so hard to just not to tweak or upgrade anything, even concerning game's glitches???

Texture remapping for PC is more than possibly connected to the fact that in 2002 PCs were not so upgraded as now to run the PS2 game in its full extent. But... Why the hell ruin the game introducing the new textures, visual effects and character models for Xbox??? Xbox version looks like crap, compared to both PC and PS2. Claude is not Claude as we knew him, Liberty City sky is just like Vice City's, vehicle color schemes changed etc...

That was my opinion.

You are just speculating! You cannot tell for sure whether this will be the Xbox crap or not.

Let's wait until the official screenshots releases, and not speculate by then, making a suggestion into a truth.

I'm so disagreeing with you...

The IOS version was BRILLIANT!!! Not losing your weapons after you die, and asking "Retry?" after failing a mission.

I'm so disagreeing with YOU!

The Unique Feel of the game was totally ruined in almost way possible. It's like taking a cake, chewing it with your teeth and spitting it back on the plate.

If Claude is supposed to lose all his weapons after he dies, then make him lose them! Why change that sh*t? It's more challenging the original way.

RETRY after failing a mission. You're kidding me? Whose idea was that? Want to see him in the face! Where's the challenge of going back to the Mission Trigger Point or restarting the game? It's GONE! Replaced by this ugliness.

The PS2, and PC (although less) had the best GTA III could offer. All other versions became garbage. Major disrespect to Rockstar for that!

Play the PS2 version of the game - hope then you'll see the same way as I do.

Youre way too much of a purist, mate. and thats coming from me. The changes to the iOs version were freshing. Id have been more pissed if it was just dumped into iOS with 0 improvements. as these PS versions will most likeley be.

Well done R*, you managed to sober up and get VIce City and GTAIII on ps network. Only a few years too late. Maybe if they released San Andreas id be a bit more enthused.

I see nothing wrong with them getting the games to PS3. The issue for me lies exactly where it comes to what basis is going to be used for a PS3 game?. Whether the basis will be PS2, PC or XBox.

And believe me mate, games like these don't need any improvements. They're fine enough as is it. We all know how well it worked over the last time, when porting to a different platform.

That's why i take the position of a "progressive conservationist".

Losing weapons was so frustrating!!!! Games are for joy, not for feeling frustrated, why punishing the player?

Going back to the Mission Trigger Point or restarting the game is soo unnecesary!!! Retry is an improvement!!! Your opinion makes no sense!!

What's wrong with change? It's quite a conservative point of view.... If there was no change in this world we would still live in caves!!! I can't believe you write such an conservative opinion!!!

In Vice City, I alway turn my computer off everytime I die, so I don't lose my weapons...

I see nothing wrong with improvements. I see not losing weapons as an IMPROVEMENT!!! Losing weapons was the thing I hated most in the old GTA's, because it was unnecesary punishment for the player, especially during an frustrating mission (there are missions I failed more than 100 times). IOS version is better than the original.

It's not really an improvement as you call it. It's just a simple kick-back for those whiners who always complain about losing their weapons.

My point is it takes away the challenge, that's why. The challenge of not dying. The challenge of not getting arrested... Or the challenge of finding the weapons over again, if you are unlucky.

Although demotivating sometimes, an experienced player, who is able to handle his emotions and excitement, can proceed far beyond the limit while keeping 'Busted' and 'Wasted' stats at Zero.

Even if you fail, no matter how much frustrating, you HAVE to realise it is a game. You don't die if you fail. You can replay over again. Once you replay, you get more skill. Once you get more skill, you get a tighter grip. Once you get a tighter grip, getting killed or arrested will be of no challenge to you.

Losing weapons after getting wasted or busted was supposed to be a stimulus for those not wanting to lose them. And with the stimulus taken away, the motivation disappears as well.

The same goes for Mission Replays. When you fail, you will have to make your way back to the trigger point, thus navigating through the city in order to reach it, getting to explore it more every time. And even for those who don't like failing the missions, the challenge of not failing them gets taken away because of the ability to replay the mission right away.

But it was not neccesary. You see GTA IV and Red Dead Redemption, you don't lose your weapons in those games, that was an improvement. The missions are difficult enough, I don't want punishment for failing. What's the fun of losing weapons? Losing cash for buying new weapons is NOT fun!!!

It's good they add things from new GTA's in old GTA's. I hope they add taking cover and being able to swim too.

I guess you are the only one in the world with this strange opinion. I want to complete games as fast as possible, so that I also have time to complete other games. You see: my time is short, so I have to complete as much games possible in this short time...

Oh no! Not just that!

As much as I hate the water in III, VC and LCS, I think adding the ability to swim wll totally ruin the games. Again, as it will take away the challenge of NOT falling into the water and getting through it safely instead.

As the cover system - there was no need for it in any III era game - the games were fine just like that.

I am NOT against innovations in GTA games. But let these innovations be implemented in the NEW GTAs, and not added to the OLD ones. The thing is, by "upgrading" old GTAs their uniqueness is ruined, therefore making it no particular GTA game anymore, and more like...

That is my point of view. And nothing's ever gonna change it. End of story!

The Last Word will always belong to Rockstar Games. No way otherwise.

If we were to look your way, then adding some lines to Shakespear's "Hamlet" or Leonardo's "Mona Lisa" would be considered not a vandalism or faggotry, but a masterpiece as well. Whereas in real life it ain't like that.
