I think you are right. But also remember that the economic slump will most likely be the center-focal point of the motivation of the protag. Really, it's anyone's guess, and I still hold firm that it'll be Dan Houser as the protag

Yea Id rather have him or the black guy because in realistic terms these days not all gang members are from the hood and not all organizations are street thugs these days . They are very smart and understand the aspect of you have to take the streets then move up to big business and let your lower members handle the street aspect. Its really because the people here in America are to stupid to realize whats really going on . Alot or suburbanites would be shocked to know who some of there neighbors really are. T.V is a horrible depiction of how street life is now. This is not the early 90s nobody is trying to take rico charges so most have gotten smarter. From Sending members to college to even penetrate the police force and military, corporations its alot more complex now . They think the only mafia has judges and politicians on payroll . Well i would like to Doi t like this if we had protags.The first protag are the first sets of missions and after we're done with lets say the first 50 Missions (First Protag) We then get switched the The Second Protag whom also has 50 missions Maybe some missions you encounter eachother and you play from different POV in the same story lines. Kinda like playing as a packie in a mission in GTA IV. The 3rd protag gets 50 missions as well. All in Different POV's and the same story although on several different missions that we dont encounter each other maybe we hear on the news

I could see that and they all have different paths to get to the connect points i would like to choose who you want to play as after you beat the game

I personally believe there will be multiple protagonists. It only makes sense for a city that large to have multiple storylines however...

I don't think they will necessarily have to overlap or convluge. I believe the protagonists will have SEPERATE story arcs (from start to finish) and you choose which characters to use.

So there will be freedom to pick a character and see what happens in their story arc. then once finished, you pick another character.

There might be references made to other characters/ or situations (however I don't think it will have a detrimental effect on gameplay.. ie how they had references to Niko during TBoGT etc)

Not being mean when I say this but...No 3 protags would ruin GTA, I like playing as one person and playing that ONE persons story. Unless they make episodic content like with IV but no having to play as 3 protags with no choice would p*** me off

Well, we have to keep in mind, that this rumour was one of the few GTA V rumours (or the only one) who turned out to be true! The same rumour did indicate that the game is set in Los Santos. I wouldn't be surprised at all if there are multiple protagonists.

& I don't want to spoil anything, but in RDR you don't just play as John marston, right?

Exactly what black guy are you referring to? The guy running in the alley, the red car and the van is the same hispanic guy. Are you all really this stupid? Also I only saw like two black guys, one on the jetski and one just standing around on the street, but those didn't exactly look very important, they just looked like some pedestrians. We probably wont have several protagonists. It will either be the balcony guy or the hispanic guy. I'm hoping for the balcony guy, because he seems to be the most interesting of the two. He is also the most likely person to be the protagonist because he is the one who is talking in the trailer.

The hispanic guy could drive as the balcony guy shoots. I just think it's more possible being the guy robbing the place rather than the one waiting out in the van. It would be boring in my opinion.

GTA has done on-rails missions before. Here's an example:
