Hey guys, I haven't posted in a while as I've been working a lot since I finished my dissertation. I just got my grade back a few days ago and I received a distinction That means I'll be getting my Masters and graduating at the end of next month. I couldn't have done this without the advice, support and input of lots of people on here and I wanted to thank everyone that took part in whatever way. If you'd like to have a read of my paper then please PM me. Thanks again, Andy

Some thoughts - may well have occured to your already.
I'm not an expert on the computer games industry, but it strikes me that R* rely a lot on Viral Marketing compared to other titles. Sure, they will do a TV close to the release date. However, they'll do a lot from their own site, YouTube, Twitter, Facebook, and benefit from hype on sites such as this. It is important because they don't have to pay so much for it. In the industry, the poncy phrases they use for it are Earned media (people talking about it), Owned meida (stuff on their website), versus bought (e.g. a TV spot or a billboard). GTA I think probably has a higher proportion of Earned than almost anything. Look at the hype and madness on here - and we don't even know the release date!
One thing would be interesting to see is how visits to this site increase on certain events. For example, I bet visits here and topics shot through the roof when the first trailer was released.
EDIT - Sorry didnt scroll down! Didnt see this first time round!
