In IV I got tired of street races. Now I want race tracks!

| QUOTE (RockStarNiko @ Sunday, Jun 24 2012, 20:47) | I would like to see ~75 races that need to be completed for the 100%. Mostly car races, but also trucks, vans, bikes, bmx, mountain bike, quad, boat, jetski, plane, chopper and triathlons. Lots of variety.

75 Races are you out of your mind? i think 30 Street races and 70 Drift races should be enough But only in one condition if we have a sports car customizable and handling Like true Race cars but only cars and aircrafts not trucks ven boat bullsh*t and i think you should add an option sprint(running) race

The races in GTA IV were alright in my opinion. I really liked the TBOGT ones, sky, sea, land. It was very creative. In GTA V I'd like if you could go onto the internet and sign up for particulars races like boats, cars, bikes maybe even planes too?
For online, well. How about you make your own route? Say for example, Los Santos to Mount Chillad and back with 30 checkpoints or something? To me that sounds pretty cool. Also if the race has land to sea. Say when you reach the sea part there's boats already in line for you to go?
That's what I think should happen, IMO...

I disagree with players wanting to modify or upgrade cars, especially for multi player races. In my opinion multi player is best when the playing field is as even as possible and all kinds of upgrades, modifications or in game purchases work against this. Drag races sound a bit boring I think, challenging tracks with tight corners and drops are more fun. In addition to the race modes in IV (Race, GTA Race) I would really like to see: -Multiplayer version of the thriatlon from TBGOT. -Off road races taking advantage of those huge mountains. -Downhill skiing with guns and grenades -Snowmobile races -Fighter jet races (or any other plane for that matter) They should also implement the gameplay from Enviro bear 2000G.

Well there's an easy way around that. Force restrictions so random Joe doesn't have a fully modified Turismo running against a heap of stock pieces of crap.
Make it a bit more Forza/Gran Turismo-ish. |
In my opinion moving towards Gran Turismo style of play would be a bad move. It would make players spend even more time in the lobby rather than racing. The GT5 multiplayer is almost completely useless, its just waiting. More options will make it harder to find a game and start racing. This post has been edited by Glamus on Monday, Jun 25 2012, 13:57

As someone who plays Gran Turismo 5 religiously, you'd think I would like te OP idea...
I don't; this is Grand Theft Auto, drag racing online wouldn't be a good idea because R* could invest their time in better features, i.e. new online modes ("capture the bag" maybe?), clothing stores etc.
I would like to see the good old form of GTA car racing in single player; get a car, roll up to the start line, and then drive. Drag racing with manual gears belongs within a racing game/ simulator, sorry but I don't like the idea.
As previously mentioned, car physics needs some improvement as well, standard road tyres do not offer enough grip to prevent drifting as horribly as they did in IV. IRL D1GP competitors use standard road tyres and lose no speed compared to the speed you would lose in IV.
